So let me get this right they think they can take on ms and catch up 15+ years of experience in server Market. They haven't even got the workstation Market. Save for totally graphic oriantated businesses I cant see anyone opting for mac and the $1000s extra it will cost

Maybe in us the us there might be a bit more Market but not in the UK

Me neither. Except for all-mac shops, where this is a natural fit, the target market are those Exchange shops who are willing to eat some short term training and transition costs for some long-term savings, but who are not willing to go one step further and save more with a Linux or non-Mac BSD solution. Granted, for some tasks OSX is easier than Linux, but for sysadmin tasks, the gap is not very wide. There is a place for Apple to wiggle in there, but not a large one..

I hope Apple surprises me,, because a successful OSX entry can only put pressure on MS CAL pricing and on Linux distros to step up their interface efforts, but it is going to be a tough nut for them to crack.

I’d love to see Apple taking big chunks of the server Market – but can’t see it happening personally.
