iOS 4 - everything you need to know in 10 minutes [video]
A quick, 10-minute video walkthrough of everything you need to know about iOS 4 on the iPhone 3GS
We've given you our massive iOS 4 feature walkthrough but if you just want to get going now, or just need something quick you can email a friend or family member, here's a 10 minute video guide to get your started.
We're showing it off on an iPhone 3GS, which should be similar to how it will work on an iPod touch G3. If you're using the iPhone 3G or iPod touch 2G you won't get the multitasking and a few other things. You'll blame Apple. Apple will blame the hardware. The hardware will try to frustrate you into upgrading to an iPhone 4. You've been warned.
Note: before you update, save yourself some time and potential hassles and go read our getting ready for iOS 4 post first.

thanx guys...So will the 3G do everything but Multitask, Bluetooth keyboard & Wallpapers?
And here I hoped it meant the OS would be out in 10m
I guess wallpaper will be there.. On apple's website they are showing 3G with a wallpaper.!
Excellent video! Just what I needed to know. Good job!
@Keisuke -- I thought I must have been the only one who read it like that... went running to iTunes for nothing! ha.
Much more helpful than reading it.
Thanks, Rene.
I really wish they'd have taken a hint from the jailbreak community and added sbsettings style toggles for the radios into the multitasking screen. I mean WTF there is so much wasted space! Use it for something!
Also, they really should have improved the notiication system. The way it works now is archaic compared to some phones that aren't even considered smart phones...
I read it as the upgrade was going live in 10 minutes as well. Guess I'll continue to wait.
Since Rene will not post the 100+ new iOS 4 features. I will, hope you all enjoy

I've been on 4.0 GM for a while now (not a developer).. its fun.. faster and stable.. Just wish the 4.0 compatible apps will start showing in the appstore..
I'll be checking for app updates all day, I hope they show up for the 4.0 gm, I won't get home til quite a bit later
@ Big boy!
Thanks very much!
@ BNV6 your welcome
Not all of those features are new, but there are some nice looking ones that I hadn't seen before.
@Devesh Noticed that too, I wonder if its true or if apple have the wrong picture up. Or were lazy. Sure we will know in the next 3-4 hours
@Bear - agreed! I love the swipe for sbsettings. Add to that a way to get to notifications, and I'd be really happy.
Wallpapers did not work on my 3G with iOS 4 GM.
Great video guys! This will be perfect for me to send to my "not so tech savvy" friends! Thanks much
Have not had time to watch the video, so apologies if it is, but gizmodo indicated that the double-tap-to-phone-favorites is not entirely gone; it is now double-tap-and-HOLD to bring up the favorites. That was a big question for me.
@Dev,
That worked in an earlier beta but didn't seem to in later ones or the GM. Hopefully it will in the GA (or something like it).
@Rene
Ugh. I guess we'll find out soon enough (or others will, not me and my 3G)
Thanks Rene! Great walkthrough
photo's in the new 4.0 build on my 3GS are not clear quality? Anyone else experiencing this?
Thank You RR! Nicely done as much as I hate to admit it..
Great video. My questions are answered....
Thank you guys Perfect video.
