my face doesn’t even register contact with my phone? i just tried to end a call with my face or type a number while on a call… am i missing something?

It’s funny everyone I know that has a iPhone 4 is having zero issues with them. Also many websites voting polls show that the majority of people aren’t having any issues at all. Sorry to those who are. But iPhone 4 is selling like crazy still. Even giving the news of certain issues.

I’m with @BobbyB – agreed, there is a problem with the signal algorithm – but seriously this is a cop-out on Apple’s part. We ALL know that Apple isn’t going to release a recall or hardware fix for this phone because their damn ego is way too big to admit they screwed up.

I love you, Apple… but why can’t you do right by me when you let me down??

P.S. I’ve dropped over 30 calls since launch day. Just had my SIM swapped out by AT&T and (obviously) that didn’t fix the problem. Apple said the next step would be to swap out my phone… is that really going to cure it, Apple??

Apple: “To fix this, we are adopting AT&T’s recently recommended formula for calculating how many bars to display for a given signal strength. The real signal strength remains the same, but the iPhone’s bars will report it far more accurately, providing users a much better indication of the reception they will get in a given area. We are also making bars 1, 2 and 3 a bit taller so they will be easier to see.”

Apparently this is only for professional (paying) iPhone developers. I am learning iPhone development and haven’t paid for an account yet. Only the 4.0 version is visible to me at this time. I don’t know if I am a minority developer because I haven’t paid yet.

Does anyone have a screenshot of the new signal bar?

If this is all Apple does to address the problem (just increase the size of the first bar) - Then they have NO IDEA what kind of bad publicity sh*tstorm they are about to unleash.

You just couldn't write a script this bad. No one could believe a company could be this inept at handling a problem.

I personally don’t think this signal bar bull**** is the cause for the issue, it’s just a way for apple to cop out of a major issue and not admitting that their phone has an issue. although the antenna issue doesn’t bother me, the proximity sensor does, and I hope this has a fix… because this phone is about to hit the wall if i “face dial” another person while on the phone. the phone is great otherwise, but these issues are bothersome!!
