Apple releases iOS 4.3.2 for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, iOS 4.2.7 for Verizon iPhone

Apple releases iOS 4.3.2 for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch

Apple has released iOS 4.3.2 for iPhone 4 (AT&T/GSM ), iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad, iPod touch 4, and iPod touch 3. iOS 4.2.7 for iPhone 4 (Verizon) has also been released (those branches remain forked).

In addition to security updates, it fixes issues with FaceTime freezes and blanks, and problems connecting to 3G networks on iPad.

Jailbreakers are reminded to steer clear unless they want to be reverted to a stock device.

Anyone grabbed the update yet? What do you think?

Applle hates Verizon users.... < /sarcsam?> :)

Keith-IA says:

4.2.7 for Verizon says it's just security updates for what it's worth. Don't know if that's worth losing jailbreak or not.

CristianTM says:

Well, lets wait for dev-team green light

Keith-IA says:

Grabbing for wifi iPad1... not for VZW iPhone - no features there. To me, it's not worth borking jailbreak.

olly.b says:

the update is only for the ipad, nothing for iphone other than to take off the jailbreak and make it boring again =D

greasyg2006 says:

Seriously?!?! Only 4.2.7? What the heck??

Dood says:

Was there something you were waiting for?

DoctorK says:

Isn't AirPlay a 4.3 feature?

Keith-IA says:

Airplay, and Nitro version of Safari... still not available for verizon users.

Chris says:

All i want out of 4.3 is the new safari and the ability to stream recorded hd videos to my apple tv.

EagleyeSmith says:

I'm not updating. I'm good on 4.3.1 Untethered Jailbreak. No problems.

Silentsoul says:

On 3Gs old bootrom. Tempted but only because I have the worst battery life I've ever experienced on 4.3.1. If there is no battery fix then not worth it to me.

HungWell says:

That's weird. I'm having the best battery life I've ever had with jb 4.3.1.

DeathGrip says:

If you have an Exchange based e-mail account, delete it and re-establish it. That fixed the battery drain for me.

Chris says:

Maybe when the white iPhone roles out on both networks they will have both versions on the same iOS. I'm using the verizon iPhone and all I want out of 4.3 is the ability to stream my recorded hd videos to my apple tv. Hope 4.3 comes by the end of the month or early next month.

rj5570 says:

well I am updating now. I am kinda over the jb cat and mouse game.
I enjoyed jb on my ipad more anyhoots. might still jb when ipad2 jb comes out. I am really trying to use that over my MacBook.
anyhoots, updating now. hoping for better battery life. I will try the delete and re add exchange.

Anon says:

Stop saying "anyhoots". Damn, that's annoying.

robes1 says:

Waiting for the Dev Team! Gotta be able to jailbreak or my phone loses way too many tweaks and apps. But I am sick of that black screen on FaceTime. I have to hang up and call back almost every time.

Nick says:

New to iPhone and I want to jailbreak. I'm still on 4.3! I see there is a jailbreak for 4.3.1 but how do I upgrade to it without jumping to 4.3.2?

Adam says:

Download the specific firmware (just google "download iphone firmware" and it's the 2nd hit) 4.3.1 for your iPhone, then under itunes "shift click" restore and point it at the 4.3.1 you downloaded :)

ARossetter says:

So would this be a prime example of iOS fragmentation?

hpcomputergeek says:

Will this take away multitasking gestures ?

Access Excess says:

Battery seems to be draining a bit slower. Or am I just imagining it?

Crunch says:

ANY 4.3.x update is a tiny update. And yes, this will take your Multitasking gestures away, along with your respective jailbreaks. The Multitasking gestures are easy to get back but the JB is not.
As for Verizon's grand update to 4.2.7, you have to wonder as to why Verizon users are not getting the obscenely incredible AirPlay support.
Apple TV 2nd gen users: Install the "updateBeGone" suppression tweak to get rid of the annoying "update available" pop-up window and disable the auto-update feature in Settings ---> General. Make sure you do both!

mrsFAB says:

My iTunes says I'm up to date. My iPhone is ATT 4.3.1. Not showing a new update. Am I missing something? About to try my iPad 2 now...

mervb says:

The apple servers can take a little while to push the update through. I'm in Australia and have to wait usually

omfgitsjustin says:

Im getting really irritated with the lack of 4.3 for Verizon iphones. So many apple people bash Google for fragmentation while it's happening with MY new iphone 4.

zeagus says:

This isn't fragmentation, it's barely a difference at all and nothing like the very important differences between handsets stuck on Android 1.6 and those on 2.2+.

johncblandii says:

Oh contraire! This is exactly fragmentation. Fragmentation is when the OS is different for the same target device [iPhone].
iPhone 3G has a different version than 3Gs which is different from iPhone 4 AT&T which is different from iPhone 4 Verizon.

Tom-Tom says:

Because 3G doesn't have as much hardware support for the update as 3GS, which doesn't have as much support as the 4. No point in making the software available if the hardware can't handle it.
Now the fragmentation between CDMA and GSM is confusing to say the least....

petrakispetri says:

I've noticed since updating to 4.3.2. for iPhone that the App Store shows more than top 50 apps now, it goes further than that :)
Hopefully this fixes the Camera Roll photo's rolling behind the top bar in the Photo app.

Joel Howard says:

Has anyone been experiencing a bad battery drain? I've noticed my battery dropping extremely fast since updating. I have an iPhone 4 by the way

DVL says:

If I update my iPad, will it disable the multi-gestures features (Xcode)?

Goldentree says:

I got awful battery drain on 4.3.1.... Not sure if I want to update until the dev team gives the green light. But I will do a full restore when I do, in an attempt to solve the battery issue. It doesn't appear to be a universal problem.

Kareem says:

Time to upgrade buddie. LOL!

Mike says:

anita barth says:

since updating my ipad 1 to 4.3.2 i had to do a total restore and lost everything. now all my pictures are blurry except a hi def wallpaper i downloaded. this was not like that before the update. I wished i had never updated!!

Nick says:

Anyone lost the airplay ability after this update to a Verizon iphone 4? My camera roll photos work on airplay no problem over to my new ATV2, but after this latest update I can no longer airplay my music. I'm not sure it's the update from the ATV2 or the phone?
