Chronic Dev Team still working on an untethered iOS 5 jailbreak

pod2G iOS 5 untethered

Chronic Dev Team member @pod2g sent out a tweet stating they are all still actively working on an iOS 5 untethered jailbreak. After Comex's departure to Apple a lot of the jailbreak community is wondering how it affects future development of jailbreak tools. Even though Comex played a huge part in the jailbreak scene there will always be many others willing to step in and fill his shoes. The cat and mouse game will always continue.

Even though they are working on a new untethered exploit for iOS 5, it has been stated many times that no untethered version will be released until after the official release of iOS 5. This is typical as a release before would allow Apple time to patch it and leave jailbreakers out in the cold until another exploit is found.

If you'd still like to jailbreak on iOS 5 you can do so via Redsn0w beta if you're alright with being tethered for a while. And as always, proceed with caution with any beta software and if you run into any problems or have questions, you can always check out our TiPb jailbreak forums.

Chronic Dev Team still working on an untethered iOS 5 jailbreak

i have been tempted to Jailbreak iOS 5 (beta) but cannot think of one really good reason to. being tethered does not bother me since regardless of what n00bs say, it is not a big deal anyways..
it is more the fact that i cannot find a decent compatibility list anywhere. they are either outdated or poorly written. i'd love for someone to point me in the right direction regarding this matter
can anyone confirm if FullScreen for Safari is now working?

As of last week when I tried the latest beta, I couldn't even install basic tweaks because anything that required mobile substrate put it into safe mode, being that almost every tweak requires this it's safe to say I wasn't on the latest beta long lol .. 4.3.3 for me all the way until the official release lands, even then I might stay on what i'm on until everything is working fully, like you, i'm not fussed about tethered or untethered, it's only every an issue when you install stuff just after jailbreaking when things require rebooting like sbsettings, winterboard etc, anything else is pretty much just a respring.
