Zuckerberg on Steve Jobs' advice for Facebook

Bloomberg has offered some details on the advice Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg sought from Steve Jobs on how best to build the social network.

“I had a lot of questions for him,” Zuckerberg said in an interview with Charlie Rose that’s due to air today. The topics included, “how to build a team around you that’s focused on building as high quality and good things as you are.” [...] Jobs and Zuckerberg also talked about “the aesthetics and kind of mission orientation of companies,”

Apple is well known for focusing on tight product lines in order to create a clear path for consumers. Facebook has been narrowing their focus on products and design in similar ways with features like Chat and the new Timeline. Still, it's interesting that Jobs offered advice and Zuckerberg sought it after the obvious differences the two companies have had in recent year.

That's because Bill Gates gave advice to Steve. Just because Microsoft isn't as innovative as Apple at the moment, doesnt Bill didnt do for the industry as Steve did.

Nathan Nye says:

As much as I do bash some of Microsoft's draconian ways, overall they made the computer what it is today. Without one accepted major operating system that was easy for the layman to use, we wouldn't have many of the things we take for granted today.

Robert White says:

Yeah they just want his money. Come to think of it...
Funny how no one asks for charitable giving & donations from Apple or Stevie J (he refused after all when he was alive).
That says a lot.

Pdsn says:

Type that question into a google search and see what comes up, how bout the fact that Steve went to Bill for help and advice when apple was about to go bankrupt?

Robert White says:

Yeah that is always forgotten about. The fact that Apple wouldn't exist if Microsoft didn't bail them out in 1997.

A little offtopic --- Me personally respect deeply both Jobs and Gates. Steve Jobs was a man who gave humanity most user-friendly devices however was elitist and sold only high-end expensive products. Gates had different vision, thanks to him everybody got a PC and had access to internet. Also, Gates is a philanthropist and devoted himself to charitable activity,
