iOS 4.3.3 coming soon, will fix location database

BGR has been leaked iOS 4.3.3, the upcoming firmware we first heard about as part of Apple's location data Q&A. Apparently, this is what we'll be getting:

  • The update will no longer back up the location database to iTunes.
  • The size of the location database will be reduced.
  • The location database will be deleted entirely when Location Services are turned off.
  • Battery life improvements.
  • iPod bug fixes.

Anything else they should be fixing

iOS 4.3.3 coming soon, will fix location database

Eliminate the interference with wifi and BT being on at the same time - has been a bug since iPhone4 came out.

I know Verizon customers are the minority, but does this mean only ATT customers have the luxury of not having thier location tracked?

How about the blue/green spot on indoor pics? I know it's more of a hardware issue, but there is an app to counter that, so iOS 4.3.3 could adress the issue as well.

There's one thing I don't see anyone talking about: how will this help iPhone 3G users fix the "locationgate" issue, if the iPhone 3G stopped getting updates?

I was under the impression that "locationgate" started with iOS 4. I have iOS 4.2.1 on my iPhone 3G. Why is it not affected?

I hope they fix the 3g connectivity issues on non official carrier for factory unlocked iphones, there's a bunch if people having this issue after 4.3.1 abd 4.3.2 updates. Carriers say is an apple issue and apple say its a carriers issue, however the issue does not happen before 4.3.1 update.

Not that I need the memory, but if they are eliminating location data does that mean some memory will be freed up?

Hope this will not impact the performance of my location based apps. If so, hope there there will be an option to keep the data on my phone.

The only thing I'd like to really see fixed is the stupid lock slider not wanting to slide about 40% of the time.

Holy moly, so I'm not the only one? I thought it was because I was wiping my phone too much or something.

Notifications need.fixing. rene don't bash them like you did last night. Once Apple improves it you'll be saying its the best thing since sliced bread.

I wish they'd fix the issue where synced Calendar items get deleted off my iPad 2 when restarting it. They resync back to the device when I open the Calendar (or if auto-fetch is enabled), but if I forget to do so I miss appointments.
Also I had my iPad 2 completely lock up on me the other day with a black screen. Needed to do a reset (home + lock for 10 seconds) to recover. First time I've ever seen that.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO That feature was SO sick it got me all over the map even my trip to Kazakhsthan 3 years ago!!!!!!

Apple really needs to implement over the air updates for minor improvements like this. I only update if there is a feature that I really want like the boosted safari in 4.3.1. If apple just went OTA for little stuff like this it would make it easier for all of us to stay up to date. They also need to eliminate their current total OS overhaul model of updating for a more incremental system like every other normal company. Sitting at a computer for an hour while I update my iPhone and then have to re-jailbreak on top of that really doesn't tickle my fancy.

Does anyone else have an issue where most photos on the iPhone suddenly seem badley pixilated? It's driving me crazy, anyone else have that issue or am I the only one?

Battery life improvement would be a big plus. Right after my last update battery life went to the worst I've ever had on an iPhone and I've had iPhones since the first was just released. And yes, of course get rid of the shady tracking data.

4.3.2 seems to have taken care of the Home button issue, unless my Home button just decided to right itself finally. I hope 4.3.3 doesn't mess with that.
Yeah, been experience some strange iPod issues. Like one time the phone seemed to think I had no music at all, and even iTunes would read the amount of space used for music so I was starting to freak but a reset fixed that.

Ya I have the camera roll issue too, and even with the latest update my home button takes 5-6 clicks to work, where it was fine when I first got this phone and it's been babied
