To those who have tried:
How playable is it on a 3G? 2G?

I got this from the App Store last week (UK here), it's amazing for an iPhone game, part of me hopes this is just Square testing the waters for Final Fantasy 7&8, because this looks/feels just like them!
The price is about £7 over here, I've never spent more than £3 on an app before but strangely I don't feel hard done by, it just reeks of awesomeness for me, I hope we get more RPG's of this calibre!

Edit: Forgot to mention, 3GS user here, super smooth.

I'm glad to hear the performance is smooth! :D
Great.

Ipad touch? Are you serious?

JonnyPancakes says:

13 bux for what looks like a PSX or N64 Game? I still think that's a fine deal. I mean, xBox Live arcade would charge you the same for a remake, like Perfect Dark and Banjo & Kazooie. And its a Square game, which typically means it's not gonna be a total bust. I'll download when I get to my WiFi :D

Where is the Ipad version?

Eric says:

Based on the graphics in the screenshots, I wouldn't give 'em a nickle.

I've never spent more than $5 on an iphone game, but I have to say I feel like this one was worth the money. Square appears to have taken their time in building an interface that works well on the iphone with great graphics and their knack for storytelling. While I've only spent a couple hours playing it, it is by far the best iphone game I've tried. Most other games just feel very stripped down or like they made too many compromises in the controls.

Jellotime91 says:

Performs surprisingly well, even while display multiple complicated character models and very heavy weather effects. It's really nice, and truly feels like an FF game not dissimilar to FFVII or VIII. It's really good.

Lol the graphix suck hard .. dam edgy choppy pixel sh1t, Dungeon hunter ownz that
but the game length is quite huge, i finished it with every couple in 21h hours 

I'm sure I'll give it a shot, but I'll wait until it comes down in price a little.
I want Square Enix to port FF VI (FF III on snes) so bad. I'd probably pay whatever asking price. I love the original esper system.

Dyvim says:

This looks great but I think I'll wait for Chaos Rings HD for iPad (which will be at least $14.99 if not higher no doubt).

SheiknetChris says:
