This is a week where more people than usual are taking a look at their password security in the wake of the Heartbleed vulnerability being uncovered. To make sure people have the right tools to take passwords seriously, leading service 1Password has cut its prices in half temporarily.
1Password lets you set, store, manage, and fill unique passwords for every website you visit, as well as your credit cards, software licenses, and more. And now, in addition to Mac, Windows, and Android, it's getting an iOS 7 makeover on iPad and iPhone!
I currently have two Macs in my workflow, a 13" MacBook Air and a 27" iMac. My iMac is my main work machine in my home office while I use my MacBook Air on the go. For the most part the docks on both are mirror images of each other. I have loads of apps on both of my Macs, but I depend on certain ones a lot more than others. Here's a look at the ones that currently earn a spot in my dock...
Since there aren't a ton of iOS devices — like there are Android or smartwatches — the staff at iMore has traditionally shared our favorite apps instead. We didn't get to it at the end of last year, what with the best app awards and CES and all, so we decided to do it now, as a way to ring in the new year. Last week I shared what's on my iPhone for The Sweet Setup, so I'm going to focus on the iPad now. Here's my current iPad Air Home screen, and a few words on why I have it just exactly that way...
1Password 4 for Mac hasn't long been with us, but the folks at Agilebits are now pushing out version 4.1, something they're calling "the little big update." Top of the order is something they've wanted to include for sometime:
1Password needs little introduction really, it's one of our absolute favorite apps for iOS to keep your passwords strong and secure. It isn't the lowest priced app you'll come across, though – you pay for what you get mind – but Agilebits is known for frequent sales helping folks get in for less.
1Password 4 is one of our absolute favorite security apps, and for a limited time the developer Agilebits is putting the iOS version of the app on sale with a massive 55% price reduction. The app, which usually runs for $17.99 can now be had for just $7.99.
1Password for Mac and iOS is hands down one of the best password managers around, and now it's on sale at half price! If you've been contemplating picking it up, but perhaps didn't fancy the price, now would be a great time to get it.
The new 1Password 4 for Mac is on the way, and you can sign up to help test it out in the private beta now! 1Password 4 launched for iOS in late 2012 and brought a stack of new features to the popular password management tool, that now finally will be on the way to the desktop version.
