Facebook for iPhone has received a little update, today, that now allows users to choose an album when uploading photos (finally!). Facebook also claims that the News feed and Timelines load and open faster.

Facebook introduces automatic photo sync

Facebook has started rolling out a new photo sync featuring with the Facebook for iPhone app that allow users to choose to have all the photos they take with their iPhone automatically upload to their Facebook account, similar to what Google Plus already has in place. For those not interested in sharing every photo you take, don't fret, all you photos will automatically be set to private until you manually select which ones you want to share.

Apple's outsourcing of social continues: iTunes gifts now available in Facebook

You can now buy iTunes gifts from within Facebook's gift system. iTunes gifts in Facebook are available for $10, $15, $25, or $50, and can be used to buy videos, music, apps, and more. Facebook says:

Starting today with Facebook Gifts, you can instantly gift your friends iTunes digital gifts and recommend albums, movies, games, apps, and more available on the iTunes Store.

Search for a specific song or album to recommend, or let your friend decide. iTunes digital gifts are available for $10, $15, $25, or $50.

Facebook for iPhone has received a pretty nice update that includes a Share link to re-post stories from your news feed as well as the ability to tag your friends in any post, comment or photo. Both of these features have been huge requests of Facebook for iPhone users for a very long time, so it's great to finally see Facebook deliver.

Facebook app crashing for some users

My Twitter stream is being swamped by people claiming the iOS Facebook app is crashing for them today. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the recent iOS 6.0.1 or iOS 6.1 beta 1 firmwares either, and people who haven't gone near either of those are reporting the problem. It also doesn't seem to be a problem for everyone, as other people are saying they're just fine.

Facebook testing "Want" button, as in they want to better monetize their platform

Facebook already has a "like" feature that lets its billion members express their endorsement for everything from a status update to a photo to web article to an App Store app, but now Facebook is testing turning "like" into "want". Called "Collections", it sounds like it would function as a wish-list, perhaps in the Amazon or GDGT fashion, but with partner retailers in a way that could eventually see Facebook entering the massive e-commerce market.

Facebook Messenger for iPhone goes 2.0, includes iPhone 5 support

Facebook Messenger for iPhone has gone 2.0 and includes some UI improvements as well as support for the iPhone 5's larger display. The conversation view has a new design and now you can swipe left anywhere in the app to quickly see a list of who's available to send message. At the top of this list you can also mark the friends you message most as favorites. The speed and reliability of Facebook Messenger has also been noticeably improved.
