Instagram Direct now lets you send private and group messages

Instagram has updated their app to 5.0, bringing their new Instagram Direct messaging feature. With Instagram Direct, you can send messages, pictures, and videos to other people privately. Between one and fifteen people can participate in a conversation, and all conversations must begin with a photo or video.

Instagram comes to Windows Phone, brings some great photographers along with it

Instagram was originally iPhone-only, but eventually expanded to Android. Now, Instagram (beta) has landed on Windows Phone]() as well. That means not only will there be even more great photos to enjoy, but even more great photographers to enjoy the from. Instagram quietly removes option to disable auto-play for videos as advertising beckons

While Instagram's latest update to the iOS app promised improvements, it also seems to have quietly removed something many of us may miss. Checking into the app settings now, there is no longer a toggle to disable video auto-play. For those of us not so keen on Instagram videos, that's more than a little annoying.

Instagram updated with official iOS 7 support, brings larger images and higher resolution

Instagram has just announced on their blog that they've released version 4.2 on the App Store which brings with it official support for iOS 7 as well as an updated look and feel to match the new design of iOS. Even more, the new design now allows for larger image sizes all around which means better resolution, according to Instagram:
