Apple Events channel added to Apple TV, will live stream iPad mini keynote

Apple has silently added a new "Apple Events" app to the standard Apple TV home page and is set to stream today's media event live. So far it appears that this will only be available to Apple TV users but we may find out more later.

Super Bowl to be streamed online for the first time, available on iPhone, iPad

The NFL has announced that this year will be the first year that the Super Bowl and the Pro Bowl will be streamed live across the internet. What's more, iPhone and iPad users will be able to view the games on their devices too.

The NFL stream will be available to view on its own site and the NBC channel. If you want to view it on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, you will need to pick up the Verizon NFL Mobile app. The app is free in the App Store but unfortunately it will only work for Verizon Wireless customers.

Mac App Store now live!

Apple's long-awaited Mac App Store has gone live! The New Mac App Store, part of Apple's taking iPhone and iPad innovation "Back to the Mac" comes with OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.6, which is available as a software update on your Mac.

Some of the apps available at launch include old Mac favorites -- and iOS favorites as well:

  • The iWork '09 suite
  • The iLife '11 suite
  • Twitter for Mac
  • Flight Control
  • Angry Birds
  • Things
  • Aperture 3
  • Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4

Windows Live Messenger coming to iPhone and iPod touch

It seems Microsoft is almost ready to release their popular IM client, Windows Live Messenger for the iPhone and iPod touch. The app is said to arrive this June and will contain photo sharing, chat, and a social stream - which looks to include a Facebook stream and possibly a Twitter stream as well.

The second major release following Bing foince the software giant is now beginning to warm up the the iPhone platform perhaps Microsoft will get the ball rolling on Office in the not so distant future.
