It's also one of those times that we dig out old ones and either sell them off or pass them down in order to clear out room for the new. Not so fast though! Weekly Photo Contest: Champagne dreams and gold wishes!

The internet has been abuzz lately with rumors of Apple releasing a gold, or champagne colored, iPhone 5s at the September iPhone event. In the spirit of crazy rumors and getting pumped for an Apple event, we'll go along with it for the photo contest this week. Anything gold or champagne colored is fair game but as always, the photo must be taken with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and only be edited with iOS apps.

Texture is all around us and in almost everything we touch and see. From paint peeling off a brick wall to a knotted oak desk. Textured surfaces not only make things around us more interesting, they make for great subjects in photos. This week your task is to go out with and capture something that shows off texture. Should Apple bring iOS 7 to cameras? At WWDC 2013 Apple announced a new feature called iOS in the Car, which pushes iOS interface and interaction from a connected device to a car's in-dash display. There were a number of companies signed up for the program, so it should see at least some level of sunlight.
