No huge surprise here, beyond seeing it in writing, but a leaked memo shows employees are being instructed not to speculate about the rumors of iPhone 5 launching on the Sprint network.

Sprint to get iPhone 5 this October?

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Sprint Nextel will get iPhone 5 mid-October, the same time TiPb reported AT&T and Verizon would be getting Apple's next generation handset.

Could iPhone 5 land on Sprint as well this year?

Shing Yin, a Citadel Securities analyst, thinks a Sprint iPhone deal may not be that far off, perhaps as soon as this year, which would likely mean a CDMA iPhone 5. After Verizon finally shipped the iPhone 4, we found out T-Mobile might be getting one, either on their own or as part of the ongoing T-Mobile and AT&T merger. That leaves Sprint sitting alone in the corner.

9to5Mac reports that the next iPhone -- rumored to be released in September -- has hit final testing stages, with variations of 'N93' and 'N94' models suggesting a possible release on Sprint or T-Mobile.

Apple job posting hints at iPhone 5 possibly coming to Sprint

Apple has put up a job post requesting a carrier technician familiar with the Sprint network, which has led many to believe they may be prepping to include Sprint in their ammunition chest of US carriers that support the iPhone.

Apple in a newly discovered job posting effectively gave away plans to make a Sprint iPhone. A position for a "carrier engineer" is being offered that would work out of Kansas City, Missouri, just a short distance from Sprint's Overland Park, Kansas headquarters. The recruit would be responsible for getting technical certification of devices in an area where Sprint is the only company with a major office.

iPhone 5 release pool: 'iPhone 4S' won't support LTE, arriving in September with Sprint & T-Mobile support?

Forbes is reporting on a research note from analyst Peter Misek, who claims Apple will be releasing the iPhone 5 in September. Misek states Apple will be going with 'iPhone 4S' as the name, following in the footsteps of the 3G to 3GS upgrade, and will not support LTE because the Qualcomm chipset isn't ready just yet. He also believes Sprint and T-Mobile will be onboard at launch.
