TiPb TV 12: Should you get the Verizon iPhone?

Yes unicorns and the color white are still mythical but now at last the Verizon iPhone is real -- so should you get it? There are a lot of factors to way including network, new iPhone models, and costs, and all of that is the topic for this episode of our video show, TiPb TV!

We're getting a lot of questions from Verizon feature phone users considering getting their first iPhone, Droid or BlackBerry users thinking about joining the light side, and AT&T iPhone users just bursting to make the switch. AT&T or Verizon, which should you choose? Do you need simultaneous voice and data and international roaming or is reliability and US coverage more important to you? Are you still on a contract and are you willing to pay the early termination fee? Can Verizon really handle the iPhone? And once you decide would you be better off waiting for Apple to release an iPhone 5 this June?

Rene and I go over the options and help you decide. So hit the video above and watch along, then tell us what you choose to do in the comments!

We caught up with the folks from Gorilla Glass live at CES 2011 and they gave us the full-on scratching, cracking, bending, breaking demo. (And as anyone who's ever dropped their iPhone or iPad knows, your heart breaks along with the glass.)

Check out the video above and let us know if it makes you feel any better about having glass on both sides of your iPhone 4...?

Firemint's Real Racing 2 for iPhone just went live in the App Store. With 30 licensed cars, 15 person online multiplayer, career mode, and other console quality features it's another huge leap forward for iPhone gaming. Worry not, Firemint Founder and CEO Rob Murray, Real Racing 2 Producer Chris Nicoll, and Firemint Communications Manager Alex Peters were kind enough to sit down for an interview with us and dish all their secrets. (Okay, maybe not all, but enough tips and tricks to give you an edge!)

This is just a taste mind you. The full interview will be included with our iPhone Live #130 podcast, available later today right here on the blog and via iTunes. Subscribe already!

Nite Ize Crocs o-dial Case for iPhone - accessory review [Contest]

The Nite Ize Crocs o-dial Case for iPhone is the case for Croc-lovers and if that's you it just might be the best thing you've ever seen. If you are way past the Croc wave, however, then this may look more like an accessory abortion. Either way, pro or con, this case is going to be so divisive that I just had to review -- and see it in person. Epic or train wreck? Follow on after the break to find out!

DataMan for iPhone - App Review

YouTube Link

DataMan for iPhone is a utility that allows you to monitor your data usage in a few unique ways that a lot of other data utilities don't. The app not only monitors your network usage, it will also monitor your wifi usage. You can also view your usage on a map. It will break up where you are using data and what kind of data you were using. For people who want to save a bit of cash and use a lower data plan, this may be an app you would want to check out.
