If you are looking for a simple text editor with a clean, professional interface, PlainText might just be for you. Hog Bay Software has created a quaint little document app that goes out of it's way to do simple editing. The main benefit this app has over the built-in Notes app is that you can define and create folders; the level of editing is the same.
Right after Apple released FaceTime for Mac beta, Dieter grabbed his iPhone 4 and called me up on my MacBook. The video above shows the results. It worked well and looked good.
FaceTime for Mac is incredibly barebones right now, almost no UI chrome or options but we'll see what happens come release. The ability to stay in contact, visually, from any iOS or Mac OS device is compelling, but it would be even better if Apple released a Windows version. Let's hope that's coming soon.
Wondering how to Jailbreak your iOS 4.1 iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad? limera1n was updated to support Mac today and after testing, it's a pretty painless process. Pretty much what we've come to expect from Geohot. So here's your TiPb-style walkthrough. You PC users should be able to follow along relatively easily as well since both jailbreaks are pretty much identical in nature. We've also got tutorials on how to jailbreak iOS 4.1 withgreenpois0n as well as how to jailbreak iOS 4.1 with PwnageTool 4.1 as well. So feel free to pick your pois0n, er... ra1n.
But as usual, here's the standard disclaimer first:
If you are at all hesitant about jailbreaking or don't consider yourself an intermediate to advanced user, we recommend you pass this up. TiPb does not accept any responsibility for broken iOS devices (even though we'll be happy to try and help if you run into any problems along the way). If you're alright with all this, click on for a written, as well as a video walkthrough!
Apple's just-released iOS 4.2 beta 3 doesn't seem to be packing too many surprises yet. But while developers and code-ninja alike do their deep diving, we'll take a look at the obvious changes, including new text tones for iPhone (though still no custom tones, sorry!), new wallpaper for iPad, and some new restrictions in the settings.
Cut the Rope for iPhone is a simple, yet challenging strategy type game. Your little frog Om Nom wants candy. The candy is hanging from random ropes with all kinds of obstacles in the way. Your job is to find a way to cut the strings in the right order to get the candy into Om Nom's mouth. You'll also need to collect stars on the way down. The more stars you collect and the quicker you complete a level, the more points and achievements you'll earn.
The Seidio Inno Dock Jr. for iPhone 4 is just the dock you have been waiting for. Or it is if, like me, you have grumbled and cursed multiple times when having to remove my favorite Case-Mate Chrome case in order to change my iPhone. What makes the Seidio Inno Dock Jr. so much better?
This week I'm taking a look at iStudiez. A new school year is upon us and as I begin the journey of own Master's degree I thought taking a look at one of the leading school and course management apps in the App Store was in order.
This week I am looking at the <a href="http://store.imore.com/seidio-innocase-ii-surface/4A123A7378.htm?utm_source=tipb&utm_medium=post&utm_term=iphone-4&utm_content=review"">Seidio Innocase II for iPhone 4. What makes this case great is that it is a two-part case that snaps about two thirds down. You slide the iPhone into the top, then slide the bottom on. The two pieces snap into place to provide a secure casing for iPhone 4.
Zentomino for iPhone is an easy to play puzzle game and a great time killer. While the game may have a simple concept, some of the puzzles are not as simple to solve. To complete a puzzle, you'll take Tetris-like pieces and fit them inside the puzzle designs without overlapping or going outside the boundaries. Drag pieces out of their places or back in, tap them while on the board to rotate them. Sometimes you'll use all the pieces allotted to you, sometimes you won't.
Tapatalk for iPhone is a perfect app for those of you who browse several forums (including our own TiPb Forums!). We all know most forums have mobile versions, but sometimes the controls aren't so intuitive, nor is the control. Tapatalk allows you to connect remotely to your forums via the app. You can then visit all your forums from the accounts tab. From there you can choose which site you'd like to browse and connect to it.
