Are shiny Pokémon in New Pokémon Snap?
Best answer: We definitely want shiny Pokémon to be in New Pokémon Snap, but neither The Pokémon Company nor Bandai Namco have confirmed that they are in the game. It's an unknown until we get some firm proof or answers. Since Shinies only have a small percentage of appearing in other Pokémon games, it's likely we won't get confirmation for awhile. We'll keep an eye out and will update when we learn more.
What is New Pokémon Snap?
It's a first-person video game developed by Bandai Namco that uses rail shooter mechanics. Players ride along in a vehicle and can take pictures of the creatures they pass. They then turn their pictures in to be judged by Professor Mirror. He'll reward points based on a Pokémon's pose, how big they are in the shot, what direction they're facing, and where they are in the photo.
This also allows players to fill in a Photodex and earn research-level points. The higher level you become, the more camera opportunities open up to you.
How many Pokémon are there in New Pokémon Snap?
Nintendo has revealed that there are over 200 Pokémon in New Pokémon Snap. However, some are more likely to appear than others. Additionally, your character's research-level goes up as you continue to play. Some creatures might react differently or do different things depending on your level. Some Pokémon might not even show up until you are at a certain level, have particular items, or perform a specific action, so you'll want to keep playing and perfecting your snapshots.
Are there shiny Pokémon in New Pokémon Snap?
So far, there hasn't been any official confirmation that shiny Pokémon exist in New Pokémon Snap. However, it's still possible that they could be programmed into the game. After all, they do show up in several different Pokémon games. If that is the case, then we assume taking a picture of one would grant you more points. We'll continue to look into the matter and will update you when we learn more.
I really hope there are shiny Pokémon in New Pokémon Snap. It would add that much more excitement to taking pictures and would really encourage players to replay the courses. We'll keep our ears to the ground and will update if we learn anything.
Fill that Photodex
