Instagram launches Boomerang to help you make short, fun videos

Instagram has launched a brand new, standalone app called Boomerang for making fun, short videos. But instead of actually taking videos, the app uses a string of photos to create fun loops.

Boomerang is simple to use. The app consists primarily of a single white capture button, as well as a button for flipping your camera. When you tap the capture button, Boomerang takes a rapid succession of ten photos, then strings them together to create your video, which each video coming in at about four seconds. You're then given the option of sharing the video on Instagram and Facebook, through dedicated buttons, along with other services with the system share sheet.

You can download Boomerang from the App Store right now.
