Apple Pay lets you use multiple credit and debit cards, so you can easily switch between them when you want to make a transaction. The default credit or debit card, however, is always the fastest and easiest to use. So, you'll want to make that card the default. Luckily, Apple Pay makes that fast and easy to do as well.
How to choose a default credit card for use with Apple Pay
- Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad that's compatible with Apple Pay.
- Tap on Passbook & Apple Pay.
- Tap on Default Card.
- Tap on the card you want to use as your default.
That's it! Unless you manually change the card you're using when making a purchase, the selected card will always be used.

Wasn't there a way to select the card you have on file with the iTunes store? I have yet to see an example of that being used in the wild.
I did that with the first card I added. If I remember correctly, I was given the option to add the card on file with iTunes when I started the process of adding the first card.
Real question is, Will this work if your bank hasn't started accepting Apple Pay yet? (Assuming mine will start doing it later)
No. Your bank has to support it or you won't be able to add the card at all. Sent from the iMore App
That's what I thought. I'm gonna be calling my bank tomorrow (Central Bank) and see if I can find out if/if not when they will be starting Apple Pay. Wanna be able to use it.
I hope my foodstamp card soon works with apple pay.
I really hope the Target CC add support. I would love to stop carrying a card I can only use at one store. I will hold out hope since Target is a launch partner and has put Apple Pay into their app and NFC readers in (some of?) their stores. Seems like this would be a natural extension. I wish they would let you name the cards. I can't recognize them by the numbers alone.
My phone shows a render of the card. Unless you have multiple cards from the same bank etc. To change cards when using just hold iphone to the reader and when apple pay comes up, just scroll to the card you want to use and press the touch ID.
One irritation is that if you select a default contact but (eg phone number), you cannot unselect to have no default. Sent from the iMore App
