YouTube adds support for Split View and Slide Over multitasking on iPad

Google has updated its YouTube app for iPhone and iPad, adding support for iOS 9's Split View and Slide Over multitasking views on supported iPads. The design of the app on the iPad has also been tweaked slightly.

Here's what you'll find in YouTube 11.10:

  • Added slide over and split view support
  • Moved home tabs into navigation bar for iPad in landscape mode
  • Fixed bug that prevented URLs in video descriptions from opening

YouTube recently added support for the resolution of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, but still has yet to support iOS 9's picture-in-picture viewing mode. You can grab YouTube 11.10 from the App Store now.
