Round Robin: TreoCentral Jennifer Entertains the iPhone 3G

[This is an official Smartphone Experts Round Robin post! Every day you reply here, you're automatically entered for a chance to win an iPhone 3G, Case-Mate Naked Case, and Motorola H9 Bluetooth Headset! Full contest rules here!]

Jennifer from our sibling site, TreoCentral, has already posted her video first impressions of the iPhone 3G, and now she’s back with her full, final review. Did she hate it’s lack of the Qwerty keyboard Treo made famous? Did she break out the glue stick in an attempt to actually paste something? Or, gripes aside, did she enjoy it for what it does well, killer Apps and fantastic web browsing and media playback?

Go check out her review, and let us know what you think!

Meanwhile, I’m finally — finally — back with the iPhone 3G this week, and wow does it look like I missed a lot of great apps and developments over the last month. So, I’ve started a TiPb iPhone forum thread where you can help me catch up — and get another chance to win an iPhone 3G!

There is no doubt the iPhone is a cool toy, she even went as far as to purchase her own.

  2. ErnestoT says:

Interesting review.. now the real purpose I’m commenting let me win won!! :-P

  3. ErnestoT says:

    won = one… derr

  4. Alphonso says:

    Interesting review

  5. mattwlk2 says:

I wish I could buy the 3G because I moved near new Orleans for college and finally have 3G available. :-(

  6. The Bowen says:

I love reading all the iPhone reviews, each one finding new pros and cons.

  7. Steve says:

She recognizes the iPhone as a legitimate “smartphone” (which it is), unlike so many bitter, jealous, ignorant fools who claim it’s “not for business” because they’re too embarrassed to admit that their outdated dinosaur phones are no match for Apple’s innovation.

  8. Deathscaller says:

she accept how awesome the iphone is without mocking every little flaw it had like some of the other smartphone sites. very good review.

  9. Derek says:

Good review, just need to fix her mic for more clarity (like when it started around 5:54). Otherwise great review

  10. Sizemore says:

Good review. The iPhone is what it is. Best to accept that and enjoy it.

  11. jesse says:

    Great review. Another Jesusphone convert!

  12. Kevin says:

An awsome review still miss the old metal backing of the first gen iphone.

  13. WatersWest says:

Review was average. She didn’t really discuss things from a Treo point of view, nor did she do anything to convert the naysayers. Good thing we all know better, & know that the iPhone rules …

@ mattwlk2 .. don’t be in want of the iPhone just because you are in a 3G area. Wi-Fi blows 3G away 10 times out of 10. If you live in a non-3G area, but frequent places with Wi-Fi hotspots, then take the plunge and get one! If you live in a 3G area, then that’s a nice bonus.

  14. PMJ (Curve User) says:

    mehhhhh

  15. Steve says:

    @WatersWest:

Agreed. I live in a 3G area but have to have it turned off if I want my iPhone to ring because AT&T has issues with it here. I’m on Wi-Fi 99% of the time, anyway.

  16. Kyle Stegh says:

I have been debating for months whether or not to get back in bed with AT&T for 2 years…

This would make it SOOOOO worth it!

  17. Lazlow says:

I might have to check out that thread, too, since my phone has far too little apps! :P

  18. ilikephones says:

I always enjoy Jennifer’s views on all the phones. No let down here.

  19. James says:

I really want an iphone 3g. Everytime I’m using my 1st gen iphone, im always realizing like…damn, i could really use 3g right now.

Anywho… alright review. Iphone’s great, she even went out an bought one herself.

  20. Mike M says:

I’m glad someone reviewed it as a game changer. Everyone else was too caught up in the fact that it doesn’t do things the same way as the rest of the bunch. People have been fed up with the way the rest have worked for a while, I know this is the least I’ve complained about a phone in forever. Well, until I spilled water on my 1g last week…now the touchscreen, about the same size as the keyboard in portrait, doesn’t work. :( no SMS, no mail, or anything else that requires a space or numbers that doesn’t support portrait. I’ve been switching my sim out with an old flip phone. I don’t know what sucks worse, buttons or t9.

  21. Charlotte says:

she seems to like it more than her treo lol

  22. Patrick says:

    haha, that’s great!

  23. Glenn says:

Jennifer did a great job!! And her voice is awesome!! iPhone is the best jennifer and kevin should just admit they love it!! More then there crowded small screen devices haha

  24. Jeff says:

I’ll admit it, I was hoping it was going to be a video review so I could hear that accent again.

  25. Jhauser3 says:

I shed a small tear knowing the the round robin is almost officially complete.

  26. Bear says:

    Good review. Thanks Jennifer

  27. Amani says:

    Gotta love everyone else’s opinion.

  28. Amani says:
