iPhone 3GS: 99% Pure Customer Satisfaction!

With 82% of iPhone 3GS users claiming they're "very satisfied" and 17% claiming they're "somewhat" satisfied, we don't need Leanna to do the math -- that's 99% pure satisfaction according to RBC/IQ and Changewave (via Macrumors).

Apple sold 5.2 million iPhones last quarter, many of which were likely iPhone 3GS -- that's a spectacular satisfaction rating for a spectacularly successful launch.

Given that rival handset makers aren't (yet?) hitting either those per-product sales or satisfaction levels (and even passionate iPhone boycotters are lamenting the alternatives), we're wondering if the gap isn't widening?

(Of course, AT&T satisfaction levels were somewhat less impressive, to put it kindly...)

Pure satisfaction? Really? If one states they're "somewhat satisfied", that indicates that they're also unsatisfied with some part of the device. Explain how that is "pure satisfaction".

That's akin to saying someone loves the Ford Focus because they like the Microsoft Sync feature, but they think the car is ugly and refuse to buy a Ford.

  2. Dmys says:

I bet if we can get MMS it would go to 100% :P

  3. Poop Smells Good says:

I predict this thread will quickly end with phrases like "Apple sucks", "I hate Apple" and "iPhones sucks".

  4. Jonathan says:

Like Bill, I'm pretty skeptical of these results, especially given there's no information regarding the sample of users. Was it users who have both a Pre and an iPhone? If the people interviewed had one device but not the other, comparing the results is not (pardon the phrase) an "apples-to-apples" comparison.

  5. The real truth says:

    @ Jonathon

Why in the hell would someone have both a pre and an iPhone? Sure decadence still reigns in America even in tough economic times, but that's a little much don't you think?

  6. The real truth says:

    @Jonathon

Oh yeah and satifaction surveys are generally delegated to a particular device. The point is not which does the user like better, rather how they feel about the device they have.

  7. Thumper-uk says:

Just hope apple improve the build quality , as another iphone has exploded , the iphone 3gs is great just think apple are doing the same as nokia do , pushing the production and loosing the quality which would be a shame if our iphones now and in the future suffer from greed

  8. Draino says:

Apple sucks,I hate Apple and the iPhones sucks! Sorry I just had to.

When will there be Pear Pods???

  10. Umm really? says:

So, if there was one additional category like "Just Barely Satisified," would that still count as satisfied?

"Very" and "Somewhat" are in different categories for a reason. And they sure as hell can't be lumped into your "Purely Satisfied" category.

"iPhone 3GS: Mostly High Customer Satisfaction" would have been far more accurate -- and given this fanboi site far more credibility.

  11. earless puppy says:

    @johnsthon

Each device has it's own survey at one point or another. the point or results of this survey show that in general most iPhone users have a very high satisfaction rate. The Pre may yield better or worse results. This survey was about the iPhone not AT&T (although they do go hand in hand) it is about the device. As the above poll is not about Ford but about the Microsoft Sync device... Ford is not part of the equation... I understand how you are looking at it, but for polls like this you can't... And honestly in regards to your pre comment, I think the Pre is the only phone currently that even comes close to shadowing the iPhone, but it is not there, it has several failing points which for me are deal breakers... ( And yes I hate Sprint but I am not even considering that point )

  12. Luis says:

I'm no expert in statistics but that's not 99%.... you are adding apples and oranges.... That would be about 92%which is still pretty good..

  13. Brian says:

    @Luis

Apparently you aren't an expert in simple addition, either

  14. DylanB says:

I fucking love my 3GS we jus need some MMS

  15. frog says:

I'd expect that. Everyone who I know that owns an iPhone, falls in love with it!

  16. Luis says:

@ Brian you see my point??? You don't even get it....

  17. High customer = satisfaction  says:

    ”Mostly High Customer Satisfaction” 

  18. CRif says:

Having been a Berry user since the 7000 series and owning many models including the Storm... The 3GS is an amazing device. I bought it on release day and haven't put it down since. This survey does not surprise me one bit.

  19. The i-Phone 3Gs is my number 5 i-phone... And it will be the last product the I will ever buy from Apple. I just don't like the way they do business... Buy new product and get an used one if you send to them to fix whatever. Now, my 3gs does not open any application that I did buy. Now what? I have try everything and it stills not working. No more crap-Phone in the future. Appliactions... come on... so far from 70,000 apps only 3 is good. That sucks!

  20. Truth says:

A better survey would have asked about a specific feature of the iPhone rather than a general are you satisfied question.

Like are you satisfied with multitasking, email, call quality, device speed, useability, camera, etc.

When u go to a restaurant they have little cards that ask you several things ie wait times, menu, waiter etc.

    This survey fails.

  21. Chobbs1 says:

If ya'll take a closer look at the full article about the survey then you'd realize that some of your comments are mute.

I do agree that the title is misleading, though.

The survey is broken down quite nicely and there is also the pre survey to compare the two

If I were one of the one ones polled I would have been inthe extremely satisfied group.

  22. Chris says:

It's a simple survey. Why do people just bitch in every thread?

  23. shollomon says:

I love my iPhone 3GS. Its Apple I'm dissatisfied with.

  24. Phil says:

The ONLY thing I like about mine after a month and half of iPhone ownership is the UI. Its the most user friendly interface out there.

But overall I've found my 3GS to be an over priced/hyped poorly built, buggy POS. Just like my mac book.

So pretty much no satisfaction for me :(

  25. Bolt says:

@Phil: the iPhone and MacBook poorly built? in comparison to what? HP notebooks? or the Pre? I lol'ed

  26. @Bill think what "pure satisfaction" means is the satisfaction rates both added together. Like if you said 99% total satisfaction.

  27. Phil says:

@Bolt: Compared to my Asus laptop which has been 100% rock solid reliable (as are the other 2 windows PC's in my house), where the mac book suffers constant niggling issues everytime I download one of apples buggy updates.

And my iphone has a stiff and intermittent home button, screen lighting issue, distorted alert and ringtone sounds in standby, and various software related issues that I'm assuming are being addressed in the 3.1 update due next month. In fact I've purchased 5 new apple products this year. 4 have issues and only my iPod touch has been trouble free. Issues with 4 out of 5 apple products does not instil me with any confidence in apples ability to build quality products. This is simply MY experience. YMMV

  28. I finally got my i-Phone 3Gs working 99%... After I have to restore more then 7 times (total 7 hours). And now some icons are missing... WTF apple!

How I fixed the problem not openning any applications that you buy!

PS: Before you retore... save a copy of all you application and delete all from i-Tunes.

    1. Retore to the manufactory settings
    2. New i-phone (Do not use the backup!)
    3. Download everything again from apple store (WTF again apple!);
    4. I had over 100 appls... and now I don't want to take another chance...I only install a few.

Yes! My satisfaction is now -15%

  29. Mystic says:

"I predict this thread will quickly end with phrases like “Apple sucks”, “I hate Apple” and “iPhones sucks”."

Unfortunately, you were correct. The trolls have taken over.

  30. David says:

The 3gs is the best iPhone yet. Stop crying about how it sucks because if it truely sucked you wouldn't blow valuable time talking about it. I must admit no MMS blows chunks but I've waited since my first gen for it so what's the point in bad mouthing it now? The 99% crap is probably just saying how much happier they are with the 3g(s) than with the 3g. I for one think my 3g(s) rocks n I've had no problems. Although apple sucks at customer service I will admit. They have the best product and user friendly inter face.

  31. I don't think the i-phone has a friendly interface... juts a very simple interface with no brains on it... come on... after you have more then 50 appl installed if will waist so much time trying to fing the application that you want to use... so, why not do the search? why not not! because no ones will memorized every appl... This is what they need for this phone!

    1. Flash Player - Sick of sending web links to my pc to watch video.
    2. Fix the video (customize names on folder/whatever the video goes into... not only Movie,Music and TV shows)
    3. Inteface need to be apple to delete or hide any application
    4. Organization on a folder or some visual form where to place all the games and others appl.
    5. and many others things that I don't recal now!

PS: The video thing on I-phone is a joke.... can't record moving images... you must be still or everything shakes with bad quality.

The 3Gs is much faster then the 3G but it still to me the best phone to use the touch screen with 1999 flash based animated interface effect on it. And the applications store... what a mess... You can't tell if you are bying a good e a stupid app. and with no money back? what a scam!!!! How many of you have waisted money on appls that is true waite of time and money... I bet 100% of i-phone users!!!!

  32. Clarence says:

I love my previous phone the iPhone 3g(which now belongs to my wife who also loves it), and my iPhone 3gs and my unibody MacBook. They all work so amazingly well. 100% satisfaction.

P.s. I have over 300 aplications for my iPhone and have slightly more then 100 loaded on my 32gb iPhone 3gs, no problem whatsoever. Ported directly from my old iPhone 3g without doing a fresh restart too. =]

  33. I guess I was right Clarence! You have over 300 applications and you have 100 loaded!!! Now, do you use all 100? How about the other 200? And from the 100 you have loaded... how many are true good ones? I did not have any problems with the 3Gs until I install over 100 and then... I have to return to apple... no fix there! because some applications now are all mixed with other aplications icons. I think if you have more then 20 apliacations on the i-phone... it will be like a keyboard from another language... so, you have to visually search for the apls you want to show or use. And there may be a bug with some i-phones not handling well with many icons. The i-phone is close to be a good phone if update the interface plus and allow customizations. If I pay for an application... I want to have on the phone somewhere even if I don't ever use them. or apple... return our money.

  34. iPhone 3GS says:

Just hope you don't have to take our iPhone back to the store if it breaks!

I've had my 3GS for less than a month, it stopped working, wouldnt even turn on or charge. I took it back to Apple store on Regent Street in London and after a lengthy argument with one of the store staff who was utterly rude and unhelpful they kindly gave me a replacement 3GS - but not a new one, no, not even a 3GS case - they gave me a refurbished 3GS in a 3G case! So now it doesnt even say it is an iPhone 3GS on the outside. I got halfway down the road, and they hadnt even put my SIM in, so I had to go back and wait around for another half hour for someone to find my SIM they had taken out a put somewhere.

So now I have a refurbed second hand iPhone 3GS in a 3G case - not good considering I bought it brand new less than 4 weeks ago.

    Apple = awful customer service

  35. Apple really has some re-p scan with whatever you buy from them. After I return 7 times I think... They told me that if return anything back to them, they will give you an used item back. Here is the prove!

    http://www.interactivedna.com/i-Phone_Returns/

And not with 3Gs will be number 8 times I have to return to them!!!

  36. Pete says:

Best phone and PDA i've owned... Worlds above WindowCE (Mobile)...

  37. Rob says:

Alright folks, enough with the drama. More people are satisfied with what they got and to be honest, that surprises me. It's human nature, we will never be satisfied and more people say and post something that would be destructive and only few cared to post something positive.

I love my phone and everything is different for every individual.

  38. The reason why the i-phone is getting better and better... is because people like us ask for what we pay for... And that's how things get better... There will never be a perfect device (toy)... but yes better improovements... That's what makes us better then others.

  39. Unhappy for the immense retrieve, but I'm truly passionate the new Zune, and wish this, as easily as the superior reviews whatsoever people scrawled, will cater you terminate if it's the manus choice for you.

  40. Wonderful thoughts. I identify with what you write, but now it was really good

  41. May be you are right.I think it is a good archive.Thank you!

Two very different yet confusing labels among the most commonly worn summer sandals are the flip-flops and Fit flops. Fit-flops took a very notable preference rate this summer 2009 as the latest trend is said to offer health advantages to people who have foot and weight problems. Flip-flops sandals on the other hand never drop in the level of preference between both genders, as it is one of the most comfortable beach pair that is available. Fit-flops is a United Kingdom brand whose rationale for the pair is using it for exercising and according to the two experts behind its performance, based at Britain’s Center, Fit-flops are shock absorbent thus alleviates joint pressure.

The only requirements expected from the wearers is walking and the rest of the magic is performed by an element they call micro-wobble-board, alleged to stimulate mid-feet muscles. According to the remarks of those who have worn Fit-flops, the pair gets better adaptation to the feet as the person steps out wearing them many times and it may take some time.

Once this happens, the comfort and other benefits start flowing as long as the user continues adhering to the manufacturer’s instructions.Discount Fit-flop sandlas effectiveness is very individual though but they are supposed to the help the user loose some weight or cellulite. Sometimes faith plus an important pair like this one works out if the wearer is also committed to use it correctly to shed some pounds and if it helps, then why not use it more?

If a single pair of Fit-flops can bring results never achieved during the frequent workout at the gym them it can be considered very useful in a world that lives people who cannot stand seeing fat bodies. The sandals are very lovely in design and colors, featuring fringed uppers in some and they are a good substitute for flip-flops sandals from time to time for a workout by all ladies.

I think that you must write more on this topic. It may not be a taboo subject but generally people are not enough to speak on such topics.

You can certainly see your skills in the paintings you write. The arena hopes for more passionate writers such as you who aren't afraid to mention how they believe. Always go after your heart.
