I have had my droid since december however needed to get a alternative because the software program ruined my telephone when it updated itself. So evidently having troubles & found this wonderful web site lol i do have a questio tho…my ram storage is gettin smaller & smaller..is there nethin i can do to assist get sum again?

You have to remember that the iPhone changed the way we think about smart phones, with that said I'm really looking forward to seeing the Droid progress. Competition is great for the consumer isn't it?

of course new phones coming out after iphone 3gs will have better hardware than iphone or no one would even consider buying it. don’t forget what’s most attractive about iphone to me(and many other people) is its app store, and after jailbreaking it it’s even better. No current smartphone on the market can beat that.

Oh yeah, i forgot to mention that on AT&T my friend only got minimal service at his house in AZ. The only place in our state that I remember him having service was in the middle of downtown Phoenix. My father has the Eris- it gets service everywhere, even when we go camping up in flagstaff. In the middle of the woods. With no towns/cities/populated areas for miles. AT&T service…. No.

The iPhart is too expensive. The phone and the plan are off the charts. The phone, second-hand, goes for over $680. That’s whack. The AT&T service sucks and it’s also way too expensive. My friend (Actually quite wealthy) had the iPhone for 3 months and it was too much for him to handle. You apple-suckers don’t know how brainwashed you are.

I just jumped from the iPhone 3GS to the Droid Eris…my reasoning? The iPhone on ATT around here (WNC) is nothing but a toy. As a phone, messaging and or business device it reaks.This may be different where you live. With the Eris (which by the way is a planet in outer space too) I am connected everywhere and while it has a few bumps here and there…it works consistently and flawlessly for staying in touch! The apps in The Market are quite sufficient. It can only get better with a few pushes too. For now I need this phone and this network…Sorry the iPhone will loose out everytime in my neck of the woods!

I agree with that Harrison. I messed around with the droid and droid eris, and they were pretty impressive. and the fact that they have the support of verizon’s 3G network and you officially have the phone to beat. iPhone’s, and pretty much everything i, are so overrated it makes me sick.

The iphone is all about people wanting to be part of a crappy little community. The functionality of the droid and its business application far outweigh and out perform the iphone. SO, iphone = college kids and 40y/o trying to keep young, the new Droid and pretty much any Blackberry are much more practical, and reliable for that matter (Droid to still be seen on that one)

I work In network and can say that the iPhone might win this contests but there are many variables that affect that test. You move 3 blocks and the results could be reversed. In Northern Cali Verizon has 3g in 100 % of its sites AT&T can’t say that. They have a map for that. I just pulled down a speed test on my Eris at 1.2 M/sec. Beat that.

Because people are different and there's no one device for us all. For anyone that e-mails are of the utmost importance a BB is the way to go. For someone that just needs a phone to make and receive calls a lil bs flip phone is perfect. That's why other devices inferior or different from the iPhone are made and are sold.

Droid may get better in web page rendering, but not before a new software push is released.

I suspect Dorid will start using some of the magic in Google Chrome browser 4.0, which was just released this week, and its awesomely fast on Linux and Windows. But this will take a while to get pushed to these phones.

I wonder how much of this due to the network and how much is due to the render engine?

It seems the network would have a big effect if Deiter had a good ATT connection.
