Facebook has announced an interesting new feature called Nearby Friends which does pretty much exactly what you think it does. User can optionally turn on broad proximity notifications, so you and your friends can get a notice when your friends are nearby. You can set specific friends and friends lists to get these notifications, and it only works if both parties have it enabled. The new system also allows you to share specific GPS coordinates for a limited amount of time with selected contacts.

Adobe's switch to software as a service has sent budget-minded creative professionals looking for alternatives to the Creative Cloud apps that don't cost them a monthly fee. Angela Ahrendts, incoming SVP of Retail at Apple, seems to be taking her time leaving her current post as CEO of Burberry, and the company has yet to announce her departure date. Ahrendts is supposed to start this spring, and is available to leave Burberry starting this month, having finished her six-month notice term. But it appears that she will stay with the company a little longer, helping to ease the transition to her successor. She may also be staying while negotiating the terms of a possible £8 million in share bonuses from Burberry, according to The Guardian:
Evernote has introduced a rather interesting new notebook in conjunction with Moleskine. Users can now capture digital images of notes written on custom-made paper notebooks and enjoy a wealth of extra features over your usual text recognition apps. The Evernote app recognizes notes you want to keep for your own personal reference in the cloud, others to share with colleagues, whether you want an item to be prioritized with a reminder, and where to file notes thanks to a selection of smart stickers. As always, text from uploaded notes is fully searchable.

That M7 data is constantly and consistently being tracked by iOS anyway, so you can install Breeze now for free and have a week's worth of data right off the bat.
