Apple releases iTunes 10.2.2 - bug fixes

Apple has released iTunes 10.2.2, another minor point release dedicated to stamping out bugs. Fixes this time around include:

  • Addresses an issue where iTunes may become unresponsive when syncing an iPad.
  • Resolves an issue which may cause syncing photos with iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to take longer than necessary.
  • Fixes a problem where video previews on the iTunes Store may skip while playing.
  • Addresses other issues that improve stability and performance.

Jailbreak safe according to MuscleNerd If you give it a try and find out anything else, let us know in comments!

How about a fix for being ugly and slow on windows.

jason says:

they have quite a few fixes for that...iMac, macbook pro, macbook etc..

9thWonder says:

When will they address the problem of

  1. taking 5 seconds to respond to a mouse click?
  2. Not responding at all to mouse clicks?
  3. Not monitoring the folder i have my music in?
  4. Generally being really really slow at everything.
  5. Being slow cause 3 separate points about being slow is not enough.

Honestly for a company that prides itself on user experience and a level of polish in it's products itunes is, though nice looking, is just not good software. You'd think pride would kick in and Jobs would address that.

FLskydiver says:

Never will Apple let people think Windows PC's are capable of running well. They WANT people to think it is their computer's fault.

FLskydiver says:

[Is it ironic that I ban QuickTime from running on my computers (except as needed by iTunes) for the same reasons Apple claims they ban Flash from my iPhone?]

jason says:

hmm...maybe now i can restore my jailbroken ipad 1 since it wont let me restore it as of right now..

iTunes Windows is revenge for Mac Office. Neither company can wrap their own APIs to work nicely with the other OS.

Carioca32 says:

Really? I hear from Mac owners that Office for Mac is quite nice. Never heard the same about iTunes on Windows though.

Crunch says:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think he meant how Office works as a matter of quality of the application suite, although that is certainly subject to debate as well. For example, Outlook for Windows 2007 was not available in Office 2008 for Mac, unless you want to count Entourage. This particular example is no longer the case in the latest Office for Mac 2011, which does include the full version of Outlook.
I believe the main issue is the fact that Microsoft does not update Office for Mac until a full year after it is released for Windows, which is even reflected in the version numbers, e.g. Office 2007 for Windows/Office for Mac 2008; Office 2010 for Windows/ Office for Mac 2011.

Crunch says:

I can tell you now that it should be jailbreak-safe, because I've used iTunes 10.2.2 for a while on Mac OS X 10.7 Lion (Preview 2) with both my iPhone 4 and iPad 1 jailbroken, and there have been no issues whatsoever. I'll report back later today just to confirm that 10.2.2 on Mac OS X 10.6 also has no issues for us.

Justin says:

Yeah, there has only been one jailbreak unsafe iTunes that I remember, and I don't think Apple even realized they did that!

buci1er says:

since we're talking about updates...i0n1c released the update to 4.3.2 jailbreak which is now incorporated into a new release of redsn0w...so lets make that front page news....

coolest ipod apps says:

But after that speed of itune application become more slow.

9thWonder says:

Regardless, apple should take some pride in their work and release a good product or no product.

9thWonder says:

And there are plenty of bad things on the mac version too.

JoesBrat67 says:

Is anyone else having issues with this latest release? I notice that I'm having problems with sharing video files between my iMac and MacBook. When adding files to my MacBook (specifically HD video files), the following happens:
1) TV show files are defaulting to "Movie", even when I am adding a file for a TV show that is already listed in my TV library.
2) The HD and SD files are showing up as separate lines when adding to either iMac or MacBook if downloaded from the other.
3) Art work is also not coming over

Jaypee says:

With the 10.2.2 update it freezes so I can't get any podcasts.
