Apps for Less: BeejiveIM, WordFu, Enigmo

For those of you who are not familiar with our Apps for Less posts, they are simply a way for us to point out a few good applications in the App Store on sale or at a price that we feel is worth mentioning to our valued readers.

First up we have an Apps for Less favorite, BeejiveIM [iTunes Link]. This application has been spotlighted in Apps for Less 3 times with the price dropping as low as $9.99. We have some good news for you, BeejiveIM is once again on sale for the low price of $9.99. You may be thinking that the price is still too high but honestly, you will not find a better IM client on the App Store, plain and simple. So if you are looking for the best out there, this is the one for you.

Next up we have a good one for all of you Kung Fu + word game fans. WordFu [iTunes Link] is a dice-based word game that combines a Kung Fu theme with many elements of other popular word games. Your task is to assemble as many words from the given letters as possible. All in all it's a fun game that is pretty simple to play and for the low price of $.99 can you really go wrong? Just keep in mind it is a limited time sale. The price will be increasing so grab it as soon as possible!

The last app we have for you today is a little game called Enigmo [iTunes Link]. Enigmo has been one of the most successful games within the App Store.

"Enigmo is the most unique game that you'll find for the iPhone or iPod Touch. It is a 3D puzzle game where you manipulate slides, bumpers, and other pieces to control streams of flowing liquid. Liquids (water, oil, and lava) fall from "droppers" and will bounce around the walls of a puzzle. You move and rotate the various puzzle pieces in order to divert the flow of the falling droplets so that they can reach their target. The faster you complete each level, the more bonus you will receive."

This is one great game with an even greater price. For a limited time you can now purchase this app for the cheap price of $.99! That's $3.00 off the regular price so don't delay!

Hopefully some of you can take advantage and get in on these deals before it is too late! Enjoy!

Apps for Less: BeejiveIM, WordFu, Enigmo

I bought Beejive at $15.99 a couple weeks back and its still totally worth it. I havn't had to sign off of my AIM, Facebook, Gtalk, Myspace or Yahoo IM clients for weeks. I also have it set up so that if the app is closed it pushes new messages to me via SMS. I never miss a thing. I use Beejive now more then any other app.

I also paid $15.99 for BeeJive. Well worth it. Great software isn't cheap. Pay $0.99 and we'll continue to see more CrApps than Apps.
Think of it this way, how would you feel if a customer/boss came to your work and said -"You aren't worth $5 a hour, you should only be getting $1". That's what people think it's okay to say to developers?

I've always believed the reason for Beejive's higher price was because of the constant server connection, rather than the app's quality. Although the quality is exceptional as well. I use it every day. Cant wait for real push!

How the hell is $10 an "app for less"? That's one of the most expensive apps in the iTunes store! And that's the sale price! Just to have an IM client? My Windows Mobile phone came with an IM and I downloaded a better one for free. And there's no keyboard so what's the point anyway? I just don't get you iPhone people. I have an iPod Touch for the cool apps but there are so many that it's just like why?

IMHO Beejive isn't worth $5 nevermind $10 or $16
@Rene Sorry but it's not the same thing because the beejive devs are making a fortune, not $1 an hour. Let's face it this isn't photoshop were talking about it's an Im client.

@Nathan, it's normally $16 that's why it's in this post. It's on sale. As for it not being worth the money that is your opinion and that's great, you don't have to purchase it. Fact is, right now BeejiveIM is the best IM client in the App Store. Plain and simple. You get what you pay for. Try looking at prices for Windows Mobile app, Blackberry apps, etc... iPhone apps are way more reasonable.

$15 is nothing for a great app. The iPhone is $199/$299. Service is $70+ a month. A movie is $12. A couple drinks that leave your system in an hour cost more.
Great software takes brains, time, and effort. It's how these developers support themselves, their families, their kinds, and their users (tech support is hugely expensive). It's how they pay their employees, their servers, and fund development of the next great app.
I don't want the iPhone to be the laughing stock of platforms, where next-to-free f@rt apps is all we get because it's what we've told devs is all we want.
If an IM client isn't worth anything to you, why not make a better one yourself and give it away for free? If you can't, don't, or won't, that's an incredibly powerful indicator of just how much that -- or any decent app -- is really worth.
I don't think a Ferrari is worth more than $5, maybe they'll give me one for free? That's my opinion, but how informed is my opinion, and if months of designing, testing, and engineering aren't worth $5, what's my opinion worth?

@Rene- well said. I own beejive and love it. Well worth the cost. Looking forward to other high quality apps like it. I myself hope there are more "high" end apps in the works.

I'm another one who wouldn't pay that much for an IM app. I'm more than happy with the free ones to be honest.

In my opinion many other blog proprietors should certainly take this web site as an model, really clean and even terrific user genial design and style, as well as the content. You can be a specialist in this topic!
