AT&T Now Offering iPhone 3GS Refurbs Online
Just in time for the holidays AT&T is now offering up refurbished iPhone 3GS devices online for a discounted price with free overnight shipping and no activation fee. Both 16GB and 32GB flavors are offered as well as both black and white models.
The 16GB model is on sale for $49 while the 32GB is going for a cool $149.00. Of course the regular two-year contract is mandatory along with new activation if you want these low prices.
If any of you are in the market for a iPhone 3GS on the cheap this is the deal you may have been looking for. Any takers?

Has anyone here every bought a refurb iPhone? I was pushed into a pool with my two week old 3GS in my pocket...and that was after buying it on the first day available after waiting an entire year with a 2G. I'm not bitter! Anyways..anybody have any experience the entire refurb process?
I have bought a MBP 13" and Apple TV refurb. Usually they replace the casing. Apples refurb are bar none the best there is.
I got my wife 3G refurbished over a yr ago. It looked brand new and had most of the original warranty still active. I just ordered myself 3GS. I'll probably give her my GS and use her 3G for myself.
does anyone know if the refurbed models are the ones with the baseband taken out which makes it impossible to jailbreak because I am on the verge of getting one but if its not hackable then its laughable to want to get it (ok that was cheesy but you get the point)
WOW. 50 bucks for a 3GS. I was going to grab the same model last week at an ATT store. Glad I waited. As for the referb question, I have never had any issues with a referb from apple. They treat it the same as a new phone. No worries. Finally I can upgrade my 4g G1 at a great price.
I would do it, but... Why get a referb when the next version is only 7 months away. I think I'll just wait, but what about Joe? Where has he been hiding, doesn't he know I am his #1 fan!
There is no way I'm getting stuck in a 2 year contract at this point in time and I recommend no one else do so either.
Look, 6 months from now we will all be drooling over the rumors of a new Iphone. Why lock yourself into a 2 year contract now. That means you will have to pay full retail and/or Add a line of service to get what ever new phone comes out next June/July.

Wow, fucking AT&T, this offer is only for new customers or people eligible for an upgrade which their stupid ad says nothing about. considering it's a refurb that is just stupid, I'm eligible in one month, when the deal will no longer exist, I fucking hate AT&T...
I can't find the refurb 32GB 3GS has anyone found it? All i can seem to find is the 16GB.
AT&T always makes their deals for only new custmers. Seems like once your with them they don't care what you pay. Do the referbs hold up as good as the new ones?
From apple, where I assume these AT&T ones were refurbished, I have had 3 refurbished iphones (two 3g's and one 3gs') and all of them were top notch. Apple must replace the cases on them cause they are pristine on arrival
I just ordered a white 32gb for the wife. Was gonna get her a new 16gb one for Christmas but this deal lets me get her more storage and a higher probability of jailbreak ability with the only trade off being a 8 month apple warranty at the least (as opposed to a 12 month). No brainier to me

I just paid $150 for a 16gb refurb 2 weeks ago.. Anyone know of AT&T will honor the fact that these prices are WAY better than before so soon? Maybe some money back of some sort?

Apparently it was a a limited number for Black Friday. The prices are back to normal, iPhone 3gs 16GB for $149....
Fortunetely I was able to order a white (black showed to be backordered) 16gb for $50 in time before the site changed back to $150. It has me a little worried though considering a couple hours later after tracking my order status it showed the phone as being backordered dispite still appearing to be in stock on the AT&T refurb page.
Should I still expect my 3GS for the $50 price on my order conformation or is it possible AT&T will somehow weasel out of this? Anyone else experiencing the same concerns or am I just being overly paranoid?
I bought the 3GS, realized 6 days in the accelerometer was off by 20 degrees. Took it back to AT&T, they refused to exchange it even though I had only had it a few days. I was livid. Drove to Seattle and an apple store. They gave me a refurb, though I would rather have had a brand new one. Been Very happy with the phone. They are like new. This is a deal I would jump on if you don't mind the contract. I have been with AT&T since 2000 and have never had reason to complain until the recent store situation. Even the guy I called at AT&T said they should have exchanged it in store.
The answer to all problems is to unlock it so youre not stock to a 2-year contract. You can get all unlimitted with T-mobile for only $80
I saw this deal on the 27th and got it. But here it is almost a week later and I have heard about 10 different stories from att about which phone I am getting and when I can recieve it. First it was we will not have any of the white ones for three weeks so we cancelled your order (without asking) and ordered you a black one so you would have a phone. Then I check online and that phone is backordered. So I call back and its the phone is about to be shipped you should get it tomorrow and its just waiting on fedex to pick it up. So the next day I check online and that order was cancelled and two more orders were placed both for iphones 3gs white..that they had no more of. One was already cancelled and the other was again backordered. So I call back and now they tell me they really have no idea when I can expect the phone. Probably the most honest answer! Not to mention everytime they posted a new order it shows up on my bank account under pending and the money is virtually not there for me to use. So at one point my bank account showed that att had 4 pending charges. I called about that and the response was that they would drop off when the item shipped. And no one can tell me when that will be. I have been with att since 2002 and have had no problems with them but after this expierence I will be changing companys!
Chris I can totally relate to you because I have the exact same issue going on. The thing that bothers me even more is that I had bought 2 iphones that day and one was a little earlier for my father. He received his the Monday following the deal without any trouble. However, I had to wait til midnight for my verizon contract to terminate and this seems to have delayed receiving my iphone for potentially weeks. I've called several times and they have told me multiple answers but the truth is they really don't know when they are going to get the proper inventory in to accommodate everyone who took advantage of this deal.
I ordered a 16GB 3GS white refurb for the $49 black friday special and they have been giving me the run-around ever since. Apparently it is backordered, but they keep telling me that the order is in process and will ship by the day's end. That was a week ago. I dont mind if its backordered, but they atleast need to be honest about it.
