Looking for Bluetooth wireless speakers for your Mac, iPhone or iPad? Look no further!
We've covered Bluetooth headphones for the iPhone and Apple Watch; now it's time to take a look at the best portable Bluetooth speakers you can get for your Mac, iPhone, or iPad. All the speakers on this list are truly wireless: Equipped with Bluetooth, they'll play wireless audio from your Mac, iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch — and with plenty of juice so that you don't need to hunt for a power outlet before you can get your jam on.
1. Classic Portable
Anker's Classic Portable is a pocket-sized cube speaker with 15-20 hours of playback time thanks to a built-in lithium-ion battery. The speaker doubles as a speakerphone thanks to a built-in microphone, so if you get an incoming call while you're listening to any tunes, you can start talking right away. Available in black, white, and blue. Set your expectations based on the price, but it's a good combination of extreme portability and compact size.

JBL's Clip is an ultra-portable Bluetooth speaker that sports a built-in carabiner, so you can just clip it to a loop on your backpack, bag, even a belt loop on your jeans. With five hours of battery life the Clip won't last forever between charges, but it gets the job done and sounds great too. It's tiny: 4.3 inches wide, 6.6 inches long and less than 2 inches high, and weighs a scant 8.6 ounces. The Clip sports an integrated 3.5 mm audio cable to connect to devices that don't have Bluetooth, as well. Comes in black, blue, grey, purple and red.

Inateck makes a solid little portable speaker that can easily slip into your bag; it sports dual drivers inside a rectangular geometric grillwork enclosure. The speaker connects using Bluetooth 4.0, though it also offers a 3.5mm mini jack to connect devices that don't have Bluetooth. Inateck suggests 10-15 hours per charge on the internal battery; my experience is closer to 10 hours, but still respectable given its inexpensive price.

3. Pocket Kick
I tried this one out after a reader recommended Soundfreaq, and I'm really glad I did: Easily one of the best pocket-sized speakers I've used. Good for 7-10 hours per charge, charges off a micro USB cable (included) and also includes a lanyard so you don't have to worry about dropping it. Thoughtful embellishments like beveled corners so it doesn't feel sharp on its edges, and a rubberized coating around the whole thing - keeps it in place and provides a soft edge when you're fishing around for it in your pocket or bag. Volume and play/pause controls on one side, sync, power button and 3.5 mm input on the other. Doubles as a speakerphone with a built-in mic.

Sony may not have much imagination when it comes to naming their products, but the SRS-X3's sound quality is terrific. It comes in black, white and red, sports twenty watts of power, and rocks dual passive radiators to give the bass some punch. The speaker is just seven inches wide, 2.5-by-2.5 inches tall and deep. You can expect around a seven hour charge for the SRS's lithium-ion battery.

5. SoundLink Mini
Bose's portable SoundLink Mini is tiny: just seven inches wide and two inches high, it weighs about a pound and a half. But that tiny chassis packs in some big audio punch and sounds terrific. The SoundLink Mini sports an internal battery that gives you about seven hours of playback time, and recharges on a cradle. You can also get soft covers to protect the speaker in grey, blue, red, pink, or mint.

6. Big Jambox
Jawbone's Big Jambox scales up their regular Jambox into a 10-inch wide, 3-inch high speaker that weighs about 2.7 pounds. The internal battery works for about 15 hours on a single charge, and connects via Bluetooth or a 3.5 mm stereo cable. Shaped buttons on the top make it easy to adjust track and volume by feel, which can come in handy especially in low-light conditions. The Big Jambox is available in a variety of colors and grillwork, depending on your preference.

The Fugoo line of portable speakers boasts upwards of 40 hours of playback, but their real appeal is in their weather and waterproof nature: Each of Fugoo's three portable speakers — the Style, Sport, and Tough — are dust and waterproof up to one meter of water for thirty minutes. In addition, the speaker boasts 360-degree sound and six audio drivers for a clean, crisp audio experience.
Serenity has been testing two of the Fugoo speakers for a few months now and raves about them; she's had them submerged in pools across the Atlantic and regularly gets a week or two of playback (~35-40 hours continuous) on a single charge.

8. UE Megaboom
The big brother to the Boom, the Megaboom lives up to its name with deep bass and 360-degree sound. You can take it with you anywhere, and a molded case — available separately — can protect it from getting bashed around. A standard threaded mount in the bottom of the Megaboom even lets you mount it on a tripod. And like many of the high-end speaker companies, UE promises to add new features via over-the-air firmware upgrades in the future.
