iOS takes top marketshare spot from Android on iPhone 5 enthusiasm

iOS on phones (i.e., the iPhone) has reportedly overtaken Android on phones (i.e. dozens and dozens of different phones) in marketshare, accounting for 48.1% of US smartphone sales, ahead of Android’s 46.7%. This follows the release of the iPhone 5, and not coincidentally, the last time Apple saw this share of the market was after last year’s iPhone 4S launch.

Google reportedly putting finishing touches on native iOS maps app, Eddy Cue going hands-on with iOS 6 maps

While many folks have started to notice iOS 6 Maps improving as of late, there is still plenty of customers out there who don't think Apple's new solution is anywhere nearly as good as the old, Google-powered one. Increased cellular data use may be linked to streaming bug in iOS 6.0

A bug in Apple's AV Foundation framework, which handles streaming audio and other media for podcast apps, radio apps, and more, could be behind the mysterious, maddening cellular data spikes many users, myself included, have experienced since updating to iOS 6 or the iPhone 5. In essence, iOS just keeps on downloading data, over and over and over and over again, sometimes gigabytes worth at a time.

Apple releases iOS 6.0.1 and Updater for iPhone 5

Apple has released iOS 6.0.1, a bug fix revision. You can grab it via over-the-air (OTA) update by going to Settings > General > Software Update, or by tethering to iTunes and checking for updates.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City coming to iPhone and iPad later this fall

Rockstar Games has announced that it will be bringing its world famous game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City to select iOS devices this fall. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was originally released way back on October 29 2002.
