Should Apple make a 'dark theme' for iOS?

Back when iOS 7 was unveiled there was no shortage of opinions on its looks to be found around the internet. Some people liked the general look of it and some people felt it was is a bit too much. A mixed bag I guess you could say as was to be expected considering it was quite a turnaround difference from that of iOS 6. But at the time, no one had really gone hands-on with it or had the chance to give it some extended use.

With no new jailbreaks in a while, is anyone really missing them these days?

With each new iteration of iOS that gets released, there has almost always been the question of when a jailbreak will be available to cover it. For the past little while though, it seems as though that question has kind of died off much like how new jailbreak releases have themselves seemingly died off.

Should Apple pay even more attention to emerging markets?

While looking through the iMore Forums today I happened to come across a thread asking whether or not Apple can afford to to stay high-end only. While I don't necessarily agree with that specific comment about them only catering to high end, the conversation quickly changed to how Apple handles emerging markets.

What do you think is the next big thing in smartphones?

These days, smartphones are everywhere and seemingly everyone has one. Smartphones themselves have essentially become the norm and it's sort of rare to see someone with a non-smartphone in their hands and because of that, there's a lot of new ideas coming to light and new innovations being put to work. While not all of them will end up surviving the long term, it's a good thing that companies are pushing the limits and seeing what takes off for consumers.

Most recently, Apple unveiled their M7 coprocessor, 64-bit mobile processing and Fingerprint scanner and while fingerprint scanners have been tried before, coprocessors are becoming more common in mobile. While all of this is going on, other companies such as LG and Samsung are off doing their own thing and creating curved displays, Google is working some serious voice-activated features but after all that, what comes next?

Apple Maps one year later: The good, the bad, and the future

Some love it, some tolerate it, some ridicule it, and some have all but abandoned it. When Apple made the decision to cut their Google-ties and go it alone with their own mapping service, it was a gutsy move. Google Maps makes people feel safe; it's been around for so long and offered so freely it's become the de-facto map service for many, many people.

Apple Maps, launched with iOS 6, was also free, had a gorgeous interface, gimmicky features like Fly Over, but for many people it simply failed at getting them from point A to point B, or getting locations or points of interests anywhere nearly right. Since then Apple has edited, apologized, reorganized, and poured considerable energy into making Maps better. So how are they doing?

Bored again: Does the iPhone lull have you checking out other phones?

It's easy to succumb to envy in the mobile world. The iPhone 5 is currently the oldest flagship smartphone on the market. Meanwhile Android OEM's such as Samsung, Sony, LG, HTC, and Motorola seem to be releasing new phones every week. Nokia is dropping new Windows Phones fairly regularly, and even BlackBerry has put out three new phones in the last six months. Against all that, it's easy to see why gadget geeks with big phone love could be eyeing - or even trying - alternate phones while they wait. Given some thought the iPhone 5 was boring at launch, is it possible even iPhone owners are bored now?

Craigslist horror stories: What not to do when buying, selling, or trading used iPhones

Thanks to a variety of factors, including good build quality, excellent support, and reliable update cycle, there's a healthy market for used iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches. And while there are a number of ways to buy or sell and old iOS device, including through speciality resellers, Craigslist is one of the ways that comes up again and again, but with as many horror stories as success stories. So what goes wrong, and how can you avoid the hassles?
