The new Mac mini is not only upgradeable, but easily repairable too

The new Mac mini has received its own teardown courtesty of iFixIt and reveals that it is the most repairable and upgradeable device Apple has released in quite a while. Adding another drive or upgrading the RAM is a super easy task causing the Mac mini to earn an 8 out of 10 repairability score. Not bad at all.

Deconstructing Apple's October iPad and Mac event

On October 23, 2012, Apple held a special event to introduce their new Mac and iPad lineups. Unlike the previous month's iPhone 5 and iPod event, it wasn't bifurcated into effectively two different keynotes, nor was almost any time at all spent on software. New Mac mini announced

Apple announced an update to the Mac mini. The base model starts at $599 and includes a 2.5GHz dual-core i5 "Ivy Bridge" processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 500GB hard drive. Also included is an Intel HD Graphics 4000 graphics processor, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0. The storage is expandable to a 1TB hard drive or a 256GB solid state drive, and memory is expandable to 16GB. This is a minor update over the previous model, which started with a 2.3GHz "Sandy Bridge" processor, 2GB of memory, and an Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics processor.

Apple introduces new MacBook Airs, other stuff

To coincide with the release of Mac OS X Lion, Apple has also released a new generation of MacBook Airs, Mac Minis, and LED displays (now dubbed Thunderbolt displays). The most interesting to us, of course, is the MacBook Air, particularly the 11-inch version which is a real -- if more expensive -- rival to the iPad.
