What you need to know

  • Anker's new PowerWave Magnetic Car Mount is designed for iPhone 12 devices.
  • The mount can e rotated and comes with a USB-C cable for charging.

Anker has announced a new magnetic car mount that wirelessly charges your iPhone 12 while you're on the move. Designed to be used both vertically and horizontally, the mount can either connect to a car's air vent or attach to its dashboard using the included 3M pad.

Being able to just slap your MagSafe iPhone onto the car mount and have it charge seems like something that would be pretty sweet, with Anker also making sure you and your iPhone are safe while it's working. There's a "comprehensive safety suite" of features included that are designed to prevent short circuits, excessive heat, and more.

Currently available for $35 from Amazon, the new mount is perfect for one-handed operation and you'll be able to use Apple Maps and other navigation apps with ease — all while keeping your hands on the wheel.

The PowerWave Magnetic Car Charging Mount is compatible with iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12, and iPhone 12 Pro Max and makes use of Apple Magsafe — one of the best iPhone features of the last few years.

Each mount comes with a 4ft USB-C to USB-C cable included, so you just need a power adapter to get things up and running. Charging capability runs at a respectable 7.5W which is more than enough to make sure your iPhone isn't draining its battery when on a long car journey.
