FileMaker 15 launches with a focus on mobile

Apple subsidiary FileMaker has launched its FileMaker 15 Platform, which allows businesses of any size to create custom app solutions for their needs. With the latest versions of FileMaker and FileMaker Go, businesses can now easily leverage technologies such as 3D Touch and Touch ID.

FileMaker 15 Platform puts a major emphasis on mobile, and iPhone and iPad custom apps developed with the platform can now utilize features like app extensions and sharing files with cloud services. FileMaker 15 also supports iBeacons, allowing you to get location data from custom apps, as well as FileMaker WebDirect, which lets you access your custom apps from the web.

There are also new tools to make creating your custom apps even easier. New automation tools highlight script errors and can undo scripting, while new templates help you get started on your app more quickly than ever. FileMaker 15 Platform also features several performance improvements and enhanced security support.

FileMaker 15 Is available directly from FileMaker, with pricing depending on the size of your team. You can grab FileMaker Go 15 for free from the App Store, though you'll need to register it to take full advantage of its capabilities.
