At the Mashable Media Summit, Foursquare chief revenue officer Steven Rosenblatt announced that the company will finally be releasing its self-titled app for the iPad. Rosenblatt says that this would allow users to plan their dining and travel experiences while browsing on the iPad from their couches. Foursquare's iPad experience is said to be coming in a matter of weeks.
Earlier this year, Foursquare had spun off its check-in service into a separate app called Swarm, allowing the main app to function as a resource to discover new places, like rival Yelp. This strategy for discovery would make sense on larger devices like the iPad.
