Quantas Airways to offer in-flight iPads

Quantas Airways Ltd. has announced they will soon be offering up iPads on its Jetstar flights to try and persuade customers to choose them over competing airlines in the Australia and Asian markets. After a successful trial period, customers will receive an iPad on domestic as well as long-haul Jetstar flights. A Jetstar spokesman said:

We're in the final stages of putting in place what would be a broader roll out across the network. We're in ongoing discussion with the manufacturer around a more integrated network proposition."

In-flight entertainment is a whole new possibility revenue wise for Apple. It will also be interesting to see if other airlines jump on the bandwagon and also start offering Apple’s iPad to its customers, or whether competing airlines will turn to competing devices like the Android Galaxy Tab or BlackBerry Playbook will be considered instead?
