I'm still not convinced I'd spend the money for MobileMe. Sure it does a few amazing things, but many of then are already available through other free media.

I think it concerns me having all my eggs in one basket with mobileme running so much.

I'd love that. I'm already a MobileMe user. And it syncs Bookmarks, Calendar, Address book and more back to my computers Mac/Win/iPhone (and Documents between my Mac computers and accessible from my iPhone).

Syncing the place I'm at in an audiobook or podcast seems pretty trivial. Just over the WiFi at home would be good for that, doesn't even need to be a MobileMe feature.

I really would like them to first improve the calendaring on MobileMe for users who use it online. I really want to be able to sent invitations from the Web and from my iPhone calendar before any other improvements.

I'll settle for MobileMe being able to sync with a system that's already on an exchange server (i.e. Outlook on my work computer). Even then though, until they add task syncing I don't know that I could be convinced to re-up on MobileMe. It's been a total waste of money so far.
