9to5mac is reporting that not only did Apple go an add a new, official YouTube channel -- currently stocked with iPad video and Keynote -- but http://twitter.com/apple has suddenly been vacated...

Could @apple finally be "getting" social networking? Will we one day be able to "friend" Steve Jobs? Do we want to?

I'm sorry damn tired of this video and that guy. Sit up straight!

  2. Omari James says:

    would be nice ...

integrate messaging into core apps. for example : If I use echofon as my default twitter app , there would be an option in the Photos app to " post to twitter or tweet " along with email , mms n so on.

  3. Apple is a master (probably the best in the area) in marketing. So when you ask me weather a twitter channel is next i'll say no. Why? because she dosn't need to, marketing the channel + update him will make an open gate for publishing mistakes.

About the channel they opened up - it's brilliant. Just in time. you tube have improved their video quality and there for Apple made there move.

  4. SockRolid says:

No Apple twitter account yet. But there's an iPad account: http://twitter.com/ipad He says he's "a MAC", so let's follow him!

  5. Kagan says:

Maybe this will be here so that places like tipb, tuaw, macrumors, etc... can make their posts involving video a little bit more iphone/itouch/ipad friendly.

  6. John-Fox says:

Looks like the profile was added in June, 2005. Not too new.

  7. Sadie says:

I'm still waiting patiently for Apple to improve the Youtube iPhone app.

  8. Jason says:

Yeah, I was disappointed to notice during the iPad announcement that the @apple Twitter account was no more. That was great for getting live announcements as they happened during last year's WWDC keynote.

  9. Adam says:

Does anyone see the irony of Apple (mainly Jobs) publicly coming out against Google then a week later subscribing to one of their most popular services?
