As always, is this in anyway going to kill the jailbreak? I know that it prob wont but just checking.
thanks.
"iTunes no longer ignores your “Remember password for purchases” setting."
when im purchasing an app at the appstore, i am asked everytime to type in my freakin password so it doesnt remember it on my iphone but will the itunes update fix that?_?
I'm very disappointed. I was hoping the Palm would have had a fix for the Pre "break" in the last iTunes "upgrade", then we could have had another "break" in this one.
Next iPhone Update: I wish we could get cover flow visual bookmarks in Safari.
My iPhone bookmarks are a mess..........can't find anything!
iTunes updates will not affect your jailbreak.
Firmware updates will!
Before iTunes has crashed my comp to Bsod so I'm hoping it won't do that again. I've had to reformat on two diff computers becus of that.
Finally a fix for the “Remember password for purchases” settings.
“iTunes no longer ignores your “Remember password for purchases” setting.”
Oh thank god! Took long enough.
and no fix for Live Updating ... hmm.
well that sux. Now I get the old "iTunes was not properly installed error message" bug... sigh
@Julie: You should never have to format your entire hard drive simply because of iTunes. What operating system are you running?
I must admit, however, that v9.0.2 is the single worst iteration of iTunes (for Windows anyway) that I've ever had to "work" with. Usually, iTunes works great all of the time.
Alright! Finally...Apple has fixed the empty Error messages that appeared under "Info", immediately next to "Summary" when an iPhone is connected. Now it shows the reason for each error message instead, i.e. "No supported Mail/Contacts/Notes application installed". This is under Windows (7 64-bit in my case). This was annoying!
Doesn't do anything about smart playlists on the iPhone. My top 25 playlist is still random.
Wow, 4 months for them to fix the remember password problem.
Yes and ipsw 3.0 is the worst as well!
Smart playlists not fixed here on iPhone either, nor live updating
Ok, just to let all of you know, I am updating and will answer any questions.
Finally I thought I it was my iPhone that had "issues" finally apple got it fixed..
Upgraded on my clunky old PIII. No problem
Will this iteration finally allow me to sync with 64bit Outlook 2010?
I'm waiting for an update to fix the message I get during a sync. iTunes could not sync with yahoo address book because no Internet connection could be found.
Still no fixed smart playlists, this is unreal...
My iTunes app is not working on my phone and 50/50 on my iTunes desktop. Anyone else having an issue post update? This might be user error...
Please dear god say they fixed support for 64bit OS. It's basically unusable ATM.
I'm still waiting for someone to tell mehow to get my bloody photos off my iPhone 3gs onto my pc and why the iPhone won't send a Bluetooth signal to those photo booth printer thingys in asda or tesco ???????????????????????
For gods sake every other phone can do it???!?!?!?!!!?!!?!")"(£&@:@¥#^*%•••¥¥€^€ ARGH !!!!!!!!
Did the download. It looks the same. Sync time with the iPod Touch about the same.
@Jezza
You know...I had this same frustration. To me "syncing" means taking the photos from both places and merging things together. Not for iTunes/Apple. The photo syncing puts photos from your PC onto your iPhone (in libraries). In order to get the photos out of your camera roll....first, have at least one photo in the roll, connect the iPhone to your PC with iTunes loaded, and a drive letter should appear on your PC that you can copy photos off the phone....but you can't copy photos onto the phone using this same letter.
I ended up using the windows import wizard to automagically copy the files off the phone and drop them in my iTunes synced photo folder. This way the photos are pulled off the camera roll and synced back to a library.

Can anyone confirm that there is still a "Create ACC Version" option after this update for mp3's that I download from somewhere else.
so, any win7 users here try this with their 3rd gen itouch? I have friends that cant sync their new itouch cause of it not recognizing it in itunes.
I never had smart playlist problems - until tonight. After updating iTunes to 9.0.3 and iPhone to 3.1.3, I now have some smart playlists that are totally empty. Is there a fix or workaround for this?
@andy
Cheers for the help will try this out later today.

re: update 3.1.3 (win7 iTunes 9.0.3 64 bit) my iPhone has locked up with error 0xE80006B. Can anyone help please? I have already tried removing anti-virus & firewall before sync, restarts, re-install iTunes.
Could the 64bit be the problem? (I do have 64bit i7 CPU)
Brd
Now I've downloaded 9.0.3 my iPod won't sync. I get an error about a corrupt and unreadable file. Never had a problem before the "upgrade." Anybody else having this experience?
I have attempted and successfully screwed up mine and my wifes phone tonight trying to update 9.0.3 and 3.1.3 phone erases and now says it's in restore mode. I had to go to apple to reset the wifes and thought I was in the clear then like a dumbass I plugged in my phone with the say result. Help anyone.....
Sigh. Still no fix for Outlook 2010 64 bit syncing.
I have a brand new laptop with a core i7 that uses Windows 7 x64 Home Premium. When I installed this and synched it with my iPhone 3GS, it automatically updated drivers or whatever, then froze. I had to wipe the phone and reinstall itunes to make sure it would work. Same problems. Synching just freezes itunes right out. Can they please fix this issue by 2011?
Update: I uninstalled everything, I mean every Apple folder on the whole computer. Rebooted. Downloaded newest version of iTunes (9.0.3 x64). When installed I MANUALLY changed the folder it was going to install into (C:/Program Files x86, which is incorrect) to C:/Program Files. Rebooted. Plugged in the iPhone 3GS and iTunes did it's thing, updating newest drivers etc. Then I got an error message where it couldn't backup the older version of the iPhone. So I let it wipe the music from it. Finally I installed the newest 3.1.3 device update for the phone itself. Restarted iTunes. This made everything work just great. It's really fast and responsive to move music onto the iPhone. This is just a personal thing, but I also uncheck any automatic synching options, because it's never really worked out for me and I feel more comfortable manually putting what I want into my phone.
Smart playlists still not fixed on the iPhone. Top 25, Top Rated, still showing all the wrong content on the phone.
Random ordering, lists that don't match iTunes, not syncing podcasts. Why don't they just undo what they did to break it in the first place? I wouldn't mind so much if every update didn't promise to fix it.
I just downloaded the update and my songs now sound like they're underwater.... Help?! I can't seem to find any answers.
Jenny 02/08 2:53 pm, If your songs are from a podcast, you might have accidentally hit the 2x or 1/2x speed button on the iPod. That will definitely cause them to sound that way. Good luck.
This update completely breaks podcast smart playlists. Podcasts simply won't show up in a playlist anymore, no matter what workaround I try. This forces you to listen to podcasts one by one. Very frustrating.
I downloaded this last night and now can't download postcasts except by subscribing, and even then I can only download the latest episode. You used to have a 'Get Episode' button (which the help still points to, but it simply ain't there, no matter which podcast I try. I've clicked every bloody button on the page but no luck. Anyone else having the same issue? Or better yet, has a solution?
Update to my previous post. I managed to find this on the apple support site which fixed the problem: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3044
Basically turn off Live Updating (whatever that is)
If anyone knows where the podcast "Get" button is, could you let us know? What good an update is if you can't download it to your device. Grrr....
I have not been able to sync my iPhone since iTunes upgrade update 9.0.3, when it does recognize the phone it tells me that my pc is not authorized for sync. very very frustrating.
the new itunes keeps lagging and wont let me transfer my movies i downloaded or song i downloaded from another source like my digital copy of the hangover
Some of my smart playlists refuse to even sync to my iPod touch. If I click on the diamond next to the device entry in iTunes, it shows those playlists as having been synced to the device. However, when I disconnect the device after the sync and check, some of the playlists do not even show up.
anyone experienced a problem with your macbook recognising your iphone when you plug it in to syn since the update? now when i plug in my iphone the macbook doesnt even recognise its attached. Also my partner having trouble syncing both ways on her macbook. it doesnt syn.
Same as Kerry above. It seems the songs are there (judging by space available) but the menu choice is not.
I am having the problem where I cannot download individual podcasts after updating my iTunes. I emailed apple and am waiting for a response.
my i phone update tlo 3.1.3 software update is also not working it seems to be working and then comes up with an error after accepting the terms and conditions and waiting (now 2 hours) i have tried numerous times on different days, because my i tunes doesn't recognise my i phone and none of my play lists in i tunes are on my phone anymore. is says on my i tunes that it will take 12 hours to update and then stops after about half an hour to an hour! My internet connection is fine too any advice?????? x
Every time I connect either of my iPods (120gb Classic & Nano) iTunes freezes.
I can't download individual podcasts, either
. This is very annoying.
Since downloading 9.0.3 I hav enot been able to open Itunes on my PC. Anyone eles have this issue? Any known fixes?
After I upgraded to 9.0.3 three days ago nothing at all happens when I connect my iPod Touch to my MacBook (running 10.4.11). iTunes doesn't launch, or if it's already open the iPod doesn't show up in the menu of connected devices. Nothing happens on the iPod screen at all. It doesn't even recognize if it's being charged. Needless to say it's not syncing.
I am unable to install 9.0.3. I have tried repeatedly, and I keep getting an error message. Tried installing it manually, but my system administrator apparently doesn't allow that. Any suggestions?
Hello all ! well ..here it is .. march 3rd .. and I too can still NOT DOWNLOAD A DAMN PODCAST !!!!!
sniff sniff ... smells like Microsoft around here
Not be able to download podcasts is the reason I deleted iTunes 9 and went back to 8.2; sure, it's not as sexy. But it does something 9 has trouble doing: working right. Wonder if the iPad will have the same problem...
The sound quality on everything is horrible with the new update. Like Jenny said, everything sounds like it's far away or underwater or out in space. I've never had itunes sound this way, it's unacceptable. Some things I can't hear at all. I've checked every setting and I'm on a Mac so it's not my computer. I hope they fix the sound quality.
Oh yeah, I have to subscribe to a podcast to get a single episode. That really sucks.
