iTunes App Store Now Supported in Armenia, Botswana, Bulgaria, Jordan, Kenya, Macedonia, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Niger, Senegal, Tunisia, and Uganda
Apple's iPhone Developer News feed has announced that the iTunes App Store is now supported in 13 additional countries:
You can now distribute your apps to more customers with the addition of App Store support in Armenia, Botswana, Bulgaria, Jordan, Kenya, Macedonia, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Niger, Senegal, Tunisia, and Uganda. Log in to iTunes Connect to view and update the countries where your applications are available.
This contrasts sharply with other platforms where the various marketplaces and catalogs have very limited international presence (i.e. you can't buy apps in most countries outside the US). The existing iTunes footprint gave Apple and the iPhone and iPod touch a huge global advantage and it's nice to see they're continuing to push it.
Now they -- and developers (and licensors in some cases) -- just need to make more of the apps available internationally!

This is just great!!! Thank you apple I started getting the hint last week on a blog called arabtech.I have tried opening an account in Kenya today it went 90% well apart from a prompt that the payment services are temporarily not ready but am sure that will also pick up soon.

nice step from Apple ... but when will it be available in LIBYA ? i am waiting !
That's great, now how about PayPal in Polish Appstore?
You missed the Armenia's flag, and no it's not red, blue, orange and green.
Nice we finally got Mauritius!! Red, blue yellow and green thats the Mauritian Flag!
What a coincidence Vishal- Red, blue, yellow and green is also the Martian flag and I heard they got the app store on the planet Mars many months ago.
LOL! Yeah i bought some apps while i was visiting planet Mars. :p
Those were the only flags Apple posted with the news :-/
Sweet!
@rene-ritchie Thanks for the feedback. What's the Apple's news post link to contact them? Somehow they managed to have the correct flag in the iTunes app.
But hey! The payment system says it's down!! Cmon apple!! Don't make us excited only to bring us down again.Activate the pay system in Kenya.
Nice to see them adding more countries, so long as they dont get screwed like Canada!!!
Its great they sell iTunes gift cards here, not that you can actually even use them to buy apps, but hey, where Canada so its ok! ...
Hello Apple,
Still waiting for payment services to be up in Kenya. Is there "An App" for fixing that? Ha ha. But please, im waiting.
Hello James et all,
I cant get my store account registered in Kenya and Im getting the same error as yours. Any Luck? Tricks?
"Payment processing is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later".
Its been two weeks!
Wilfred.
Let me let you guys in on a little secret - rather than wait for a local iTunes store, you can simply buy from the USA iTunes store, which is always going to have a lot more content anyway. You don't need a US credit card, you can use US gift cards instead. Check out Tunezip - http://www.tunezip.com. You can use the gift card credit to buy anything you want - apps, movies, music, etc, no matter where you live
Warning do not buy anything from http://www.tune zip.com.
tune zip.com is a scam and they take your money and deliver nothing.
