VMware launches Fusion 7 with support for OS X Yosemite

VMware has released Fusion 7, the latest in their line of virtual machine software. Fusion 7 comes designed for OS X Yosemite, and adopts the new design cues like cleaner toolbars and windows. In additon to Yosemite, Fusion 7 is also compatible with Mountain Lion and Mavericks.

Apple updates developer guidelines for iOS 8 apps, disallows HealthKit data on iCloud, IAP for Extensions

To help developers get through the iOS 8 app approval process, and to help protect customers from any misuse, accidental or intentional, Apple has updated their App Store Review Guidelines to cover Extensions, HealthKit, HomeKit, Test Flight, and more. The update includes a restriction against storing HealthKit data on iCloud, sharing HealthKit data with third parties without consent, charging for extensions via in-app purchase, and collecting custom keyboard data for anything other than improving the keyboard.

Nokia could bring back HERE maps to iPhone and iPad by end of 2014

Nokia plans to bring back its HERE maps app to the iPhone and iPad by the end of 2014, according to the Wall Street Journal. This news comes a few days after Nokia announced plans to launch HERE maps for Samsung's Android smartphones and Tizen watches.

Uber faces ban in Germany

A court in Frankfurt has ruled that Uber cannot operate in Germany due to a lack of adequate insurance for these types of private drivers, as well as expensive licensing. Low-cost UberPop drivers found to continue operating could face fines up to 250,000 euros per trip, though Uber says they intend to keep them running through the ban.
