Sicher from the IM+ team promises to keep your messages 'super-safe'

Sicher, a new "super-safe" messenger has arrived today on Windows Phone, iPhone and Android devices. Sicher (pronounced "Zee-her") comes from the team behind IM+ and brings free, encrypted chats and file transfers to users. Using the app, you'll be able to chat, send files, photos and voice messages to other users. Sicher goes so far as to not show incoming messages on your lock screen (only an alert) so you have to open the app to get the full message. Sicher features secure end-to-end encryption of messages, files and group chats, anonymous push notifications and self-destruction message settings.

Snapchat takes a slingshot at Facebook with shareable social stories

As Facebook is trying to take on the ephemeral messaging model with Slingshot, rival Snapchat is trying to become more social and public with a new 'Our Story' feature. Seems like quite the reversal of course for both social networking heavyweights, but Snapchat is adding the Our Story feature to its self-destructing messages model for a more public and group sharing experience.

eBay has launched a new app called Valet which helps you asses the value of stuff you want to sell and easily ship it off to someone who will handle the business of auctioning it off online. You get a free shipping label, the seller takes a 30% of whatever it sells for, and you get the other 70% over PayPal. Just keep in mind that you can't sell anything through Valet that's worth less than $40 or is otherwise in poor condition.

GameLoop launches social network for gamers on iOS

Anybody remember Heyzap? It was a social networking app for gamers that allowed users to socialize about games and discover new games. The Heyzap team recently pulled its iOS app however, switching focus to their targeted ad SDK. That pretty much left Raptr as the only social networking app for Apple gamers.

Now a new player has entered the field: GameLoop. The GameLoop app is free and allows users to discuss the games they enjoy while also discovering new games to play. With the ability to detect all of your iOS, Xbox, Playstation, and Steam games, GameLoop is poised to be a serious and more mobile-focused competitor for Raptr. Read on for full details!
