A new report is saying that Google is gearing up to introduce a CarPlay rival at their I/O conference next week. The in-car solution will sport features similar to those of Apple's CarPlay, allowing users to navigate the software using their vehicle's own built-in controls. Ford's iPhone-friendly voice recognition system (SYNC) and app developer environment (AppLink) are expanding to Asia Pacific and Africa after its original launch in North America. The Ford Focus will be spearheading the expansion in Taiwan, and will include both English and Mandarin recognition. SYNC's European launch is also kicking off this year.
