Ipad Cases

Pad & Quill offers 15% off to iMore readers, teases new cases for the new iPad

Winner of the 2011 iMore Editors Choice Award for favorite iPad case, Pad & Quill is hard at work on a new line of products, including cases specially designed for Apple's new iPad. While there may not seem to be too many differences between last year's iPad and this year's new iPad, when you're dealing with handcrafted designs, and old world materials like wood and leather, it pays to be perfect.

While we're waiting on the new gear, Pad & Quill president Brian Holmes was gracious enough to offer iMore readers %15 off any of their existing models.

OverBoard waterproof case for iPad review

"The OverBoard waterproof case for iPad is a must-have for everything from the bath to the beach, but can be a little tough to close if your hands are covered in suds or tanning lotion."

I absolutely love waterproof cases like the OverBoard for when I'm traveling. They work exceptionally well to keep your iPad or iPad 2 clean and dry, and can double as a handy place to store some cash and credit cards as well. They also work great at home, letting you enjoy a relaxing soak in the tub while reading, surfing the web, or playing your favorite iPad game.

Case-Mate POP! Case with Stand for iPad 2 review

The Case-Mate Pop! Case with Stand for the iPad 2 brings the same blend of protection and kickstand-enabled performance to the iPad 2 as it’s younger, smaller sibling does for the iPhone 4S. And like with the iPhone version, that’s a very good thing.

Vote now for iPad case of the year [TiPb Awards]

TiPb Awards: iPad case of the year

Apple kicked off the iPad 2 case wars with their magnetically attached SmartCovers. ZAGG added a full-on Bluetooth keyboard to the ZAGGfolio.

DODOCase redid their classic for iPad 2. Pad & Quill took things up a notch with their Contega.

Otterbox added the Reflex to their armored offerings. BodyGuardz added the thin and strong Carbon Fiber.

Incipio kept thing sleek with the Feather Ultra-Light. Case-Mate went with a kick-stand for the Pop!

Yup, that's a lot of different kinds of cases, but to keep the number of categories sane, we had to it. They all have two things in common, however -- they're all great and you have to pick your favorite. Vote up top and tell us why you voted they way you did in the comments! These are your awards, so get to it!

TiPb TV 20: Bond boat bash [giveaway]

We put the original Aquapac and Overboard cases for iPhone 4 through the car wash and into the deep end, so what could we do with Aquapac for iPad 2 and the new Overboard Pro Sport for iPhone? Well, Rene and I had some Amazing Case-style ideas. However, putting the waterproof Acquapac for iPad and Overboard for iPhone through the dishwasher just didn't sound cool. You know what's cool? Putting them head to head in a Bond boat bash!

TiPb TV 18: Ultimate iPad case sledding challenge

You asked us to put the Otterbox Defender head-to-head against the Incipio Destroyer in a proper, traditional Smartphone Experts style review and... I thought to heck with that. We're doing an Amazing Case episode of TiPb TV. No, not a Jiu-Jitsu death-match or scratch test or water torture, this time we're taking the Defender and the Destroyer out onto the frigid Canadian slopes, we're putting them up against ice and snow and mud and rocks -- we're literally putting our butts on the line to stress test them for the TiPb nation!

We've previously taken a look at how to put on and take off the Destroyer and how to install and remove the Defender. This time we took them... sledding! Now the Defender's outer layer is silicon (Destroyer puts that layer inside) and non-stick might be great for grip but not for racing down a hill. So we had to take that off. Destroyer is also literally screwed together. With differences like that, could it be a fair test? Could we figure out which one would best keep your iPad protected (and me alive?)

Hit play and find out!

[Special thanks to @marcedwards from Bjango for the 1-star rating t-shirts. Meh!]

The Marware Eco-Flip case for iPad is a portfolio case which offers your iPad both style and protection. The padded outer layer of the case is an eco-leather material which is water resistance and beautiful to the touch. The inner microfiber layer of the case has a soft suede feel and cradles your iPad snugly inside. It also offers vertical and horizontal stand options as well as a keyboard lift. How to put on (and take off) an Incipio Destroyer case for iPad

The Incipio Destroyer Case for iPad is a cute name for something that's supposed to protect your precious iPad, but protect it does. Like a tank. Seriously. It bloody well comes with a tool to secure it on and off! Does that make it difficult? Not really. I found it rather intuitive actually.

Check out the video above to see me give a try, and there are a few pictures of the final results, after the jump!
