iTunes in the Cloud is part of Apple's iCloud services. It allows you to re-download and enjoy your iTunes content on an iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Apple TV, or Windows or Mac version of iTunes logged into your account. 90 second iTunes previews starting to roll out internationally

IThe new, longer 90 second iTunes music previews seem to be finally rolling out internationally. They aren't available on all songs yet, and it seems hit in miss in my testing in the Canadian iTunes Store, so whether you'll get them or not, but at least some songs are going the full 90 seconds.

After a November 2010 notification to record labels Apple originally switched to 90 second previews in the US back in December of last year. Why it took that email so long to reach beyond American borders is unknown, as is how long it will take to fully roll out now that it has begun.

In an effort to crowd source this, let us know if you're seeing the 90 second previews, what country you're in, and whether or not the 90 second previews are everywhere or just on a few songs.

Government investigating Apple over iTunes music anti-trust?

The New York Times is reporting that the Justice Department is taking a look at Apple's conduct in the digital music space:

people briefed on the inquiries also said investigators had asked in particular about recent allegations that Apple used its dominant market position to persuade music labels to refuse to give the online retailer Amazon.com exclusive access to music about to be released.

This goes back to a story in March about Amazon asking for 24hrs of exclusivity on certain new music tracks in exchange for prominently featuring those tracks on Amazon MP3. Apple reportedly asked labels not to give Amazon that exclusivity, and withdrew their own marketing support for those who made the deal with Amazon.

Apple Begins 10K Count Down to 10 Billion iTunes Music Downloads

Apple has begun a countdown to it's 10 billionth (that's right, 10,000,000,000) iTunes music download, and to celebrate they're giving away a $10,000 dollar gift card.

iTunes changed the way you buy music, making songs and albums available for download, day or night. Seven years later, we’re about to celebrate our biggest milestone for music, yet — 10 billion songs downloaded. Buy a song, and if it’s the 10 billionth download, you could win a $10,000 iTunes Gift Card. It’s our way of saying thanks.
