New Year's Resolution: Review your social network privacy settings

What better New Year's resolution to start with than to check out all your in-app privacy settings, especially where Google, Facebook, Twitter and other social networks are concerned? We know how it goes; you get a shiny new iPhone or iPad app and you just want to use it so you log in through Twitter of Facebook or Google because it's easy, quickly tap through all the set up pages, granting who knows what permissions and for how long, and then forget about it the moment the next shiny app comes along.

George's most-used iPhone and iPad apps of 2011

My most used apps of 2011 include an endless list of Twitter apps, ‘video streaming apps’, and of course, the default apps like Safari, Mail, Messages and YouTube. When I do download apps from the App Store, I immediately store them into folders: "Games, Utilities, Utilities 2". However, there are a select few apps that live outside of folders, because I use them so often. Here are the top 5 that I’ve used this year.

Andrew's most-used iPhone and iPad apps of 2011

My most-used apps of 2011 consist of some of Rene's favorites, and for good reason. Like Rene and Leanna, I'd also prefer to list some of the great default apps included in iOS like Mail, Reminders, Safari Browser for iPhone and iPad etc., but that would just be boring. Instead, here's a list of some of the most-used iPhone and iPad apps I spent the majority of my time with this year.

Rene's most-used iPhone and iPad apps of 2011

My most-used apps of 2011 are probably the built in iPhone and iPad Safari browser, Mail client, and anything and everything Siri can now easily and instantly manage for me like Reminders, Calendars, Alarms, etc. But that's mundane, boring, and way too Spock for a list like this. So if I take the defaults off the table and focus only on the App Store fare, here's what I spent most of my time with this year.

iOS 5 untethered jailbreak teased, should work on iOS 5.0.1 as well

pod2g has posted a video showing off an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5. When and if it will be made public has yet to be said.

hello. No it does not rely on [Charlie Miller's code signing vulnerability]. Next step do the same on iOS 5.0.1. Should be quick.

According to later a tweet sent out by pod2g, it looks as if it will work on iOS 5.0.1 which is great news for all the folks that already updated.

Tons of questions from my nice followers. Too early to answer. Will work on iOS 5.0.1, will try iPad 2 and 4S after others are ready.
