Amazon starts offering Prime Now deliveries from local stores in Manhattan
The new service extension is opening up in select neighborhoods in Manhattan from today, expansing across the borough in the coming weeks. Stores include Gourmet Garage, Billy's Bakery and D'Agostino. To take advantage of Amazon's delivery service, you'll be required to use the Prime Now app, available for iOS and Android. Two-hour delivery is free, while one-hour delivery will set you back $7.99.
It's a major change for Amazon, which previously only offered products from its online store for Prime Now delivery. Should you reside outside New York City, Amazon will be introducing local store deliveries to other locations that support Amazon Prime Now, including Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Brooklyn, Dallas, and Miami.
