Angry Birds Transformers rolls out worldwide for the iPhone and iPad

Those Angry Birds have merged with yet another major pop culture franchise. This time developer Rovio has teamed up with Hasbro to bring us Angry Birds Transformers, as the cartoon birds and pigs are mashed up with those "robots in disguise", the Autobots and Deceptions. The game has been released first for the iPhone and iPad.

Rovio says:

With an edgy 80's vibe, Angry Birds Transformers brings a humorous twist to the beloved Transformers characters. Angry Birds are disguised as robots in disguise when Eggspark plunges to Piggy Island changing the pigs and the eggs in its wake. The Autobirds and the Deceptihogs will have to join forces to prevent the rioting EggBots from wreaking havoc!

What do you think of this latest entry in the Angry Birds series?

I have been writing professionally about technology and gaming news for 14 years.

  • I'll try it for free.....
  • Rovio games have gotten so commercial that they are no longer fun to play. You should never have to wait AND watch a commercial in between levels. Maybe the reason they have laid off so many people is because they tried to monetize every aspect of every game and people stopped playing. Maybe they have gotten the message, but I doubt it.
  • not in the app store as of 9:30 eastern on 10-15-14
  • It's there you have to use the link. It should show up via search later today.
  • Angry Birds is still a popular game. I do agree to paying $5 and never have in-app purchases. Sent from the iMore App
  • Me too... and when it's my son that plays more than me, he gets upset that he can't advance just to open up new levels or try new characters. One and done works for me...
  • These games are more gimmicky now than ever before. With that being said I will still probably get the game.
