Camera+ gets a slow shutter, action extension, and more

Popular camera app Camera+ has arrived at version 8.0, adding a number of new features including the new Slow Shutter for longer exposures. The app also has a new Ultra-low ISO mode, which works well when paired with Slow Shutter. Neither of these features will be available on the iPhone 5 or older.

In addition to Slow Shutter, Camera+ has added new options for importing photos, including support for importing your most recent photo. Additionally, Camera+ now features an action extension, which lets you send photos to your Lightbox from other apps. You can also now initiate an import from the Camera+ Notification Center widget.

There are some smaller changes with this update as well. The "What's New" section will tell you what's changed with the most recent update. This release also sees a number of bugs getting fixed.

You'll find Camera+ 8.0 on the App Store now.

  • So... Camera+ is different than Camera Plus. I haven't yet purchased the former. Sigh.
  • Lol yes unfortunately but Camera+ is clearly the superior option. Though the editing features kind of suck (as opposed to like VSCO) the actual camera functionality is pretty decent. I'd check it out if you have a couple bucks to spare and want something slightly better than the stock camera. :) Sent from the iMore App
  • Understood. I was pretty unimpressed with Camera Plus, thinking that it was Camera+ that I've heard so many great things about!
  • someone can use the new features on 5s???
  • I can't use Slow Shutter on 5s as well.
  • I tried using the slow shutter on my iPhone 6 (setting it to 1 second) and the app started flashing and hung up my phone (pressing the Home button did nothing). The phone got hot and I had to do a hard reset on it. Fail.
  • The slow shutter options work great on my 6S Plus!
