What you need to know

  • Niantic has been updating Pokémon Go to support remote play, but has announced very little for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
  • That changes soon with the introduction of the Knight Bus.
  • The Knight Bus will transport players to Hogwarts from the comforts of home.

While Niantic has announced a number of changes to Pokémon Go and Ingress to support players who are currently shelter in place, the announcements for its other AR game, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite have been few and far between. However, our source at Niantic gave us a bit of news that we're excited to share with all you Witches and Wizards out there. Niantic will soon be implementing a new feature to Wizards Unite: The Knight Bus! The Knight Bus, the triple-decker, purple bus that picks up stranded witches and wizards will be added into Harry Potter: Wizards Unite soon. The Knight Bus will allow players to be transported to Hogwarts where they can participate in Wizarding Challenges remotely, all from the safety of their homes.

We don't yet know when the Knight Bus will be introduced to Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, or if it will require the Wizarding Challenges to at least appear on the map or if the Knight Bus will be a permanent feature, like the new Remote Raid Passes in Pokémon Go, but as soon as more details emerge, we will let you know!

Are you still managing to play Harry Potter: Wizards Unite despite being stuck at home? What new features would you like to see to support remote gameplay during our current health crisis?
