Amazon has a few different Transcend JetDrive Lite models on sale right now giving you an easy way to add more storage to your MacBook Air or MacBook Pro without the need to carry an external hard drive.

Tailor-made

Transcend JetDrive Lite

Eek a little extra life out of your MacBook Air or MacBook Pro with a JetDrive Lite storage expansion. These low-profile storage devices are down to record low prices and give your machine a capacity bump for way less than upgrading to a whole new Mac.

From $50

The JetDrive Lite is a low-profile storage solution that uses the SD slot on the side of your MacBook Air or Retina MacBook Pro to give you an immediate space upgrade. Each model is tailor-made for specific MacBook models so that, when in place, it sits almost flush with the side of your Mac so you don't have to worry about removing it when travelling around.

Transcend's 128GB JetDrive Lite 130 works with MacBook Air models from 2010 to 2017 and is down to $50 for the first time ever. It's been around $53 most recently but has sold for $70 and up within the last six months. The JetDrive Lite 330 is also $50 in the 128GB size, marking a new low for that model too. It works with the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display from late-2012 to early-2015.

If you have the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display, you'll need either the JetDrive Lite 350 or JetDrive Lite 360 depending on your machine's release year — the former is for mid-2012 to early-2013 machines, whereas late-2014 to mid-2015 model owners should get the latter. The price for the 128GB JetDrive Lite is $52.99 regardless.

There are some minor discounts on other capacities, but it seems to be just the 128GB versions that are getting the steepest price drops so those make the most sense to go for right now. These are a great way to eek a little extra life out of your Mac before you upgrade to one of Apple's latest models.
